More yards in 2019: Dallas Cowboys Randall Cobb or Michael Gallup?
https://thelandryhat.com/2019/06/09/dallas-cowboys-randall-cobb-michael-gallup-yards/

...Over the last three seasons, Cobb has averaged around 48 yards per game. With the Cowboys, Cobb will probably stay around this number. Last season, Beasley averaged 42 yards per game.

Supposedly, new offensive coordinator Kellen Moore is installing new schemes to the system to make the offense more versatile. The offense, in general, is much better heading into 2019 than 2018 with a healthy center Travis Frederick, a receiver Amari Cooper, and a much-improved quarterback Dak Prescott.

Then there is receiver Michael Gallup. Gallup broke the 500 receiving yard mark in his first season in the NFL (507 yards). He might have even approached 700-800 yards if Prescott connected on a few more deep balls.

Cooper and running back Ezekiel Elliott will be demanding much of the attention from opposing defenses. So Gallup and Cobb will be in more favorable situations. If the Cowboys offense is to be elite, they will need both of these receivers to take advantage...

I think Cobb. I'm not expecting this big year from Gallup. I think he's going to be a much better receiver than he was last year but it won't show up on the stats.

i see your side, but if Dak hit Gallup a few more times, than the stats would say you are wrong.

They will be mostly running down field blocking for Zeke

Its just a prediction on my part. I think Gallup will have a much better year on the eye test. But this offense is going to built around Cooper and Zeke. I believe our slot receivers and tight ends are going to be a big part of this offense too. Wouldn't shock me to see Pollard get in on it too.

I don't see this offense as going to be some sling it all over the football field type offense. It won't bother me though. I don't care about stats. Gallup will have some touchdowns.

Cobb if he stays healthy, I will look for Gallup to be solid, but the break through will be in year three.

Gallup will get his shots. Teams will take their chances with him in the base over Cooper. When it's time for play action to go deep, Gallup is the most likely target. With an offseason of Gallup to get in sync with Dak, and maybe more accuracy from Dak, Gallup should be the guy getting the shots in the base.

That's if they don't find other targets to prefer. Gallup is a tweener between the speed merchants and possession guys like Hurns and Wilson. He's just a 3rd round pick. There's no reason to think they're married to him as the #2.

Total yards are a weird thing depending on where players are lined up. If Cobb is lined up as the slot, he will get a lot of looks at third and short and get Beasly type numbers, which I am thinking.. Gallup was drafted early and is high on the on the coaching staff list. He made some rookie mistakes but showed great potential as he earned more playing time as the season went on and was eventually the defacto number two. It depends which way Moore wants to go.
