Fan base can kiss an ***. It’ll get done like it or not. The kid has shown what it takes to win games. Sorry he doesn’t look, act, like Romo, Brady, Brees, Wilson.

The kid has given his all and continues to deliver. Dude will get paid and some fans won’t like it. Oh well!

Hence the dilemma to committing all those millions(Cap Hell) as his play is nowhere close to those names you mentioned above......

People keep saying he should take some sort of discount because he plays for "America's Team". I think quite the opposite is true, No QB position in all of football is more scrutinized, criticized, magnified, glorified, etc. It takes a special type of guy to handle everything that comes with being the Cowboys QB, thus he should ask for MORE money.

Wouldn’t ask him to do what brady does. He should make starting QB money. Work something out. But they also have to sign the guy that’s making him look good. Every couple million counts.

He certainly deserves more than Wentz. He’s outplayed him by a wide margin. Philly was dumb to pay him that much. 99% of players that have come back from the multiple torn ligaments Wentz had were never the same. Peterson was one of the few exceptions but even that was only for 1 year.

The injury issues are a fair argument, but Wentz had a 101.9 passer rating two years ago and a 102.2 last year, so each year his rating has risen. Dak's dropped into his 80s his second year (86.6) before rebounding some (96.9) last year, but still hasn't been as good as Wentz's other than their rookie seasons.

This is the argument against him deserving more than Wentz. Again, Dak's side has the injury and playoffs in their favor, but Dallas has Wentz being an ascending player, putting up passing numbers than Prescott, on its side.

Something tells me we are going to pay him more or about the same as wentz. It’s really got to do with the team around them also. Both QB has really had a pretty good team around them. I see them around the same. I will be happy when it’s over. Move on to how much we are going to over pay Cooper.

smart thing to do, Dak is so great lets see how many teams want to step up and pay him and give up 2 firsts.
This is dumb, the two are not related. Just because no team wants to give up 2 firsts doesn't mean he isn't a very good QB. Just like when bad QBs get big contracts, it doesn't all of the sudden mean they're good.

Sure it’s subjective. It’ll still play a factor in the discussion. Wentz can physically do things throwing the football hat Dak will never be able to do.
Right but that doesn’t determine if he gets paid. It’s about production on that field. Gallup will never be able to run a 4.2........that won’t ever stop him from getting paid though.

So I am dumb because I don’t think he deserves to make as much as SB winning QB in his first extension.. ok then pay him what brady is making. I am sure he won’t take that.

I don’t mind paying him but some of it’s getting crazy.
Ignorant is a better word. You don’t understand the market for QB’s.

Heck at this point they dont even need to tag him. Jerry is holding the cards. They can play him this year and then tag him for next year.
You do realize that tagging him does exactly what you are trying to avoid right? It will be an absurd percentage of the cap. Both sides want to get a deal done.

Dak’s outplayed him in every game they’ve faced each other. The key to your statement is “2 years ago”.

Not cool. Whether we agree or not I wouldn’t call you names.

No problem with paying the kid. Longer we wait the more it costs. Don’t want to see us over pay and cost us money we could use to help pay other players. Take some of the team away from him or any QB and it hurts over all. Coop is gonna want to be over payed next. I am saying if he is wanting more than his worth then don’t cave. If the market is 32 then fine. I would offer him less and up the guaranteed and up front money. He will stay healthy unlike another QB that just got payed.

But if you play him this season and tag him for 34 mil next season you have basically got him for two years 17 mil. If you pay him now its going to cost over 60 mil for the next two seasons.

The math is pretty simple with top tier players, particularly those in highly coveted positions. The longer you wait, the more it's going to cost. If they can get a four year extension @ $34M/year that kicks in next season, it can be looked at as a 5 year deal worth sub-$30M/year.

Did you even watch year 2 when they had the suspensions and injuries? Obviously not.
Great QB play is like pornography...... you know what it is when you see it. We have seen solid qb play up to this point. Nothing more. Wentz in his acl year.... that was GREAT qb play. Get back to me when we have something like that coming from our qb that doesnt have the number 1 rb and O line in all of football. Lie I said, this year will tell the real story of what we have IMO. Another top season from Dak, and I think we can stop trying to qualify why he has good seasons. A season like year 2, and we can stop trying to qualify why he has sucked.

Something a lot of people are not thinking about! I was listening to some former NFL players discuss paying Dak and Ryan Clark was asked could it affect the locker room. His eyes rolled and he said ohhh yeah. Guys will develop resentments especially if Dak is over paid.

I’m not calling you names. I’m just saying you’re ignorant which means you lack the facts. As far as Coop or any other player, when was the last time the Cowboys overpaid for one of their FA’s?
