I'm so sorry to hear about your brother passing. I had a good friend years ago that didn't like the high from pot at all, but started smoking it for the same reasons.
My brother said it really helped him overcome the chemo. The nausea mostly but it gave him an appetite. Gave him lots of good days before the end. The guy I responded too is an idiot for what he said.

Enough of this pot posse BS....its a sport that leaves the players with considerable pain after every game......allow the use of Pot by all NFL players for medical purposes jeez......!!!!!:omg:
The problem is the testing, the science.
THC is fat soluble, which means that it can take up to 30 days to no longer be detectable in your system with the standardized testing format that is currently being used.
So that's where the big hang up with the league is, how do we know if this player just smoked after the game, or is high before the game,,,, this is where the issue is.
There needs to be a new testing procedure that dials in a tighter time frame, 24 hours maybe,, possibly a mouth swab .. who knows?

It’s legal in so many states now that the new CBA in a few years will do away with testing for marijuana as it should.

Agree the league should stop testing for cannabis, but what happens to a player who gets busted in an NFL city that’s in a state that hasn’t yet legalized pot? Or if a player gets popped for crossing state lines while holding, which is a federal offense?

How are they gonna word the future CBA/Player Conduct Policy to cover those potential issues?

It will be all about quantity. If a player like Nate Newton is caught with several pounds then that’s not for personal use but intent to sell. I’m talking personal use. The NFL won’t do squat for that.

If he wasn’t already getting cut this should do it.

I wish we could’ve found a way to use him strictly for red zone and not bang our head on the wall with him learning the playbook. At worst he should’ve been an outside decoy in the red zone

Well, we could technically keep him for a game without him costing us a roster spot. I don't think we will, though, because I believe we'd have to initially cut someone else during final cutdowns.

We will see, but I highly doubt it,, no pun intended.
There "might" be modifications, agreements on this policy, but there will never be full ratification, the NFL will never totally lift all liability.
For example.. there may be some agreement that has to associate with Doctor approval, medical recommendation, but there has to be a special program set up, and the player has to be involved in said program, and fulfill his obligations in said program.
There will never just be a free for all smoke out whenever you feel like it, at half time during the game, locker room full of smoke...lol
not happening.

There’s no doubt that the NFL and the Players will agree to make it totally legal, i.e. they will no longer test. Any amount you want to bet, I’m in.

Bull****. My brother who died May 18th smoked pot to relieve pain and increase his appetite. He had cancer. There are a vast number of folks who do the same. Now pull your head out of your ***.

If you only knew how many people smoke it for the other reason, you’d realize 99% may be pretty accurate. You called him an idiot for saying nothing out of the ordinary.

I didn't even know he was still with the team. Has someone done so little and still receive a paycheck?

If Rico gets cut, which is reasonably possible, it won't be because of any one game suspension.

It'd probably be because of his failure to fulfill the TE responsibilities of the plays that are called.

can't read close to 100 posts just to say Rico sucks....biggest waste of time....and, wouldn't they have to activate him for the game, just to be suspended? (serious question) so if he isnt on the 53 until week 10 (for example), is that the day/game they suspend him?

God, please move on from this waste

In High School, I had strained my back and got prescribed muscle relaxers. They do help, but can make you a little loopy. I shared some with a couple teammates before a game, one of them never expected to see playing time that game, he was a 3rd string RB. The 1st and 2nd string guys got injured in the 1st qtr and he played the rest of the game and he was high as hell and was incredible. He was running past, around people, he was trucking dudes, they couldn't bring him down, the coaches, sidelines, everybody were stunned. It was pretty flipping amazing, the coaches were on the sidelines talking about starting him the next week.

He got more reps in practice, the coaches were excited that maybe we had a new weapon....... He didn't start the next week, but did get subbed in early and got a lot of playing time early, but was back down to 3rd string before the end of the game. I didn't have enough muscle relaxers to spare before that game and he looked like his old self. The coaches weren't sure what to make of it and just chalked up that one good game to a fluke, the other team wasn't prepared etc. A handful of us knew the real reason, but we weren't talking.....lol
Lmao. That’s hilarious. I guess it relaxes his brain and let him concentrate. I would be in the bench with a bag of Funyuns.
