Will Gurley's arthritis up Zeke's asking price?

That's the point. Zeke is the engine, but do you commit that much long term money to 1 player in a fairly high risk position?

Depends on what else you can do with that $15M.

Just off my head - what does $15M for offensive line get you? Nate Solder and Trent Brown just signed for about that much as tackles, and neither one's that good. The WR market is inflated as heck; $16M gets you Sammy Watkins or Allen Robinson, and neither one cracked 1,000 yards last year. $9M only gets you freaking Cole Beasley. For edge rushers, $15M gets you third tier guys like Preston Smith or Za'Darius Smith. $14M for safeties will get you Landon Collins or Earl Thomas on the downslope of his career.

On the positive side, I'd love to keep Jaylon here for $12-ish million. Top dollar for a cornerback is about $15M, and that's about what Byron would ask. Byron vs Zeke would be an interesting discussion. As far as recent DT contracts, I'd love to have Sheldon Richardson here for $12M.

But all in all, $15M for a top shelf running back isn't crazy. I think Zeke has a greater impact on a game than anyone on that first list, excluding a healthy Earl Thomas.

The prudent thing would be to let him walk. By time there is new contract, his best years will be behind him and you know more suspensions are coming. I know it's not popular. Just remember how happy people were with Dez contract. It was bad at the time.

Zeke is going to be paid but he will not get what people think he will. Trouble seems to follow him and teams wont offer big $$$ if he hits the open market. He will be paid by JJ and it will be more than other teams will offer but it will not be the super large amount some people think!

The Rams knew Todd would have some arthritic problems because of his ACL surgery before they inked his contract. I wonder if this causes Zeke's agent to expect even more money for Zeke when they start their negotiations. And if they do ask for more than Gurley's $15m ($45m guaranteed), will that get SJ thinking more along the Franchise Tag route.

I actually think Dallas should let him walk.

Zeke can stay out of camp.

We can go 0-2.

Then he gets paid.

Or we can pay him and we go 2-0.

See Emmitt in 1993.

As if!
As if we had not the Pollard lad!
And 3 all-pro receivers.
As if Pollard would not be running for his future if Zeke stayed away!
Stay away from the fanboy press.

I'll repeat this a 1000 times. Feed him the ball, tag him next year and get a kings ransom. Then you're set to stay on top for years.

I remember 1993.

They didn't want to pay Emmitt.

They ended up paying him. $$$

After we went 0-2 to start 1993.

Dak
Cooper

Jaylon

Byron
Zeke
Quincy we already know how this organization is run let's deal in reality here:

Dak
Zeke
Cooper

Jaylon

Byron

Is the reality of the contract situations going forward. They will get Dak done, possible they do Cooper this season and handle Zeke before opening day 2020.

15.5 per year. Sign Cooper first. Maybe even Jaylon.

Sign jaylon "MAYBE".....

Goodness gracious this just reminded me that we are going to have so much talent to make decisions on in the future.

Its gonna be hard seeing the team lose out on some good players. We cant sign everyone and it sucks.

I think Jaylon and LVE will be signed. Byron Probly not.
