I read thread after thread about this AAV of 30something mil. Those that gripe about the AAV really have no idea how this team runs. And there are quite a few on here. In 2007 Romo signed a 6 yr 67.5mil deal and in 2013 he signed a 108mil deal. He never had a caphit of 10mil. Dak will never have a caphit of 34mil in any yr. They will do what they did with Romo and restructure and extend. He will not lose money but ensure he is a lifelong Cowboy. This will be structured like this because he's still so young and make so much more money then other QBs and still never strap the Cowboys cap like Romo never did.

This team is smarter then you, so let them do their jobs.

Don't you wish you could tell all these brain dead people how foolish they seem in comparison to rich people that control a team. You can only get such money and wealth by being smarter than others. They should just shut their mouths and yell Cowboys since they are just wasting their time otherwise. You are so smart, carry on.

The picks we gave up hurt as well. That being said at the time Roy was a really good receiver. By the way I'm not saying Jerry has been perfect with every decision but this myth that anybody could do better is just nonsense.
Yes agree I wasn't responding to your Jerry comment I was just thinking about Roy Williams what a failure and what it cost us

You're right it was a failure. For all these people that say Romo made players better and Dak doesn't like to forget about certain players like Roy. On the flip side they like to forget that Beasley had his best season with Dak and Cooper was an afterthought until Dak started the connection with him.

I don't know why folks can be fans of both guys and call out both the good and bad. Sorry to get off subject by the way haha

I do think their scouts are smarter than me - thats for sure - so I don't fret too much about draft picks.

I am not sure that Jerry's ego and football mind trump certain fans on this board football mind and common sense. If I owned the Cowboys, I would hire the best GM and coach and let them run the show because that's not my expertise.

It would probably turn out better than Jerry since Jimmy!

Actually. I was contemplating the same Theory. That's why I say pay the kid already. I know what we have . I know what his potential can be. This is the season that we will truly know what we have in a quarterback. That means his growth . cuz his instincts can finally take over. I would pay him . I know what I already have in him. And what I'm going to have to pay when he progresses. Off subject but I'm constantly thinking like you

It's not whether the scouts are smarter than you are not it's about the incite the contacts. People that know the player not just the ability the actual player. It's about as much as camaraderie as it is Talent. Is the player going to fit the team the scheme oh. Are you looking at the entire picture because anyone can just choose talent and put a team together that doesn't mean the team can win

So let me ask you a simple question. Would you hire a coach at the league already scrutinized and would you hire a new Young startup. You realize if you already have a team you have to hire a coach that fits that team. If you just hire a coach first then you can build a team around him. I'm really curious did you even contemplate that

you might also consider who will qb this team if not dak. clearly not someone presently on the team. and no one knows what the future holds. how many more years do we wait for the next great qb of the cowboys to fall into out lap? sign him. then get out of the way and let the man play.

How is the off-season going my cowboy brother. Is it Quail season. Or jerky making season.

No, I did not contemplate that because it was a general statement, I don't have a billion to spare and also went along the lines of hiring the best GM I could find and let him do his job! Because as I said, I don't have the expertise!

I actually think I could run a franchise. It's about hiring the best intelligent people and letting them do their jobs without micromanaging. Actually think I could do a great job as a conditioning coach. With over 50 years of experience.

best year ever for me. completed the sale of my two coltan mines in brasil a couple of months ago. in Alaska a few weeks ago for king salmon and halibut. got back from a few days in the keys for father's day. no quail until late in October. deer season first weekend in November. 100% retired now. hoping for a superbowl victory before father time gets me.

You lived the life, some people dream about. I just told my wife cuz I finally realized it's okay to spend what you have. Why wait for someone else to spend it I'm going to enjoy the rest of my life. I guess it took age to realize it.
