Linked below but some quick thoughts:

- I think they will end up carrying 6 WRs, not 5 .

- Carrying 9 OL seems right. He has Hyatt making the 53 with Sua gone. If Frederick is truly healthy and now with McGovern, as much as Sua was adequate last year, he's likely gone.

- 10 DL seems right too given the numbers we have there. And Archer's list doesn't include Gregory. If he finds his way back to eligible, Charlton or Armstrong will be holding their breaths (or I guess Hyder as well).

- 10 DBs, with 5 safeties and Frazier not one of them. I could see a DB getting dropped to create a spot for the 6th WR. Darian Thompson being gone would be my guess, especially if Wilson continues to show he can play as a rookie.

I stopped reading after the first line,if Rush makes the team then we are doomed.I can think of 5-6 backup QBs who will be cut who are leaps and bounds better than Rush.

I know Olawale has special teams value. But is he worth keeping over one of the young receivers? (Johnson, Wilson)

Same with five safeties

If you kept reading, you would have seen him say in the write-up that this could be a spot where they add a veteran backup QB at some point.

He can only build a 53 man roster with who is currently on the roster. What did you want him to do? Magically make up a QB that they will sign as the backup?

He's the only "FB" option we have and he can play some TB. I think there's zero chance he gets cut for a 6th WR. Maybe they only carry 3 RBs (Elliott, Olawale, Pollard) and stash Jackson or Weber on the practice squad but that seems unlikely as well.

Rush doesnt have the arm to play QB in the NFL,he made the team only because White didnt show enough.

My biggest point of contention is him keeping just five wide receivers while keeping five safeties. I think there are more than six worthy receivers and fewer than five worthy safeties.

Oh and his mention of Lance Lenoir made me laugh!

I was really surprised with the WR group. I think the first three are locks, but after that, not so sure. I was surprised to see none of the young guys, such as Johnson and Wilson were even mentioned.

I still can't comprehend how many people wanted him to be the starter. LMAO

Which doesn't change the point. He tried to build a 53 man roster with who is currently signed by the Cowboys. Again, what did you want him to do? Just make some trade up or some cut and then throw that QB in?

Tend to agree. If I recall, we've always carried 6 WRs for most of the most recent initial 53 man rosters.

I was going to start a thread how would you build your defense.

I think we keep an extra tight end over a wide receiver this season just because of Jason.

There's no TE really worthy of taking a spot from a 6th WR. Especially with Gathers being largely a non-factor and now suspended a game for drugs.

I think they even carried seven at one point last year. I don't expect that this year given the depth on both lines, but I think the receiver talent isn't far better and more valuable than the 'safety talent'.

As much as I agree with the original post I can't stand Rush. I totally understand what you're saying also. He only can build with what you have

Yes I don't currently see one either. But you have to realize and you probably do Jason won't be here next year. Hope that doesn't come back to bite me

Oh yeah, I certainly do. But I expect they'll fill the void left behind with a draft pick next year. And maybe they'll keep a TE on the practice squad this year.
