Well it’s a good thing our moron GM will I my pay out QB 34mill/year. This way he can pay Cooper 24 mill/year and ‘stay relevant ‘

Good times
Do these opinions come from out of thin air, from under rocks, or from various and sundry orifices?

Are you kidding me? 30% of the tickets at AT&T are owned by businesses that turn around and resell them on stubhub for 2 or 3 times what the NFL team is charging. Dont kid yourself... the nfl face value of tickt=ets is a BARGAIN. Try to go to the Cowboys game against the Saints and see if you can get cheaper than about 300 bucks for upper level seats. The Saints are probably charging about 80 dollars for that same ticket.

I had season tickets for years. I know what they sell for. And not all of them all the time sell for 2 or 3 times the value. Sometimes you are lucky to break even. Mine were $340 each, I had 2 great seats and $75 parking
Many times I felt lucky to sell both seats and parking and make $300 profit . Sometimes it was double but not all that often.

FYI .....this is $4M more than highest-paid NFL receiver (OBJ)

MICHAEL THOMASWR, NEW ORLEANS SAINTS

Updating a previous New Orleans Times-Picayune report, Michael Thomas is seeking $22 million per year.
The Saints are reportedly at $18 million annually. A contract should be coming eventually, but "nothing is imminent" with about four million separating the two sides. There are a few receivers waiting on new deals, so there may be a waiting game to see where the market settles for elite receivers. Thomas has the most receptions (321) since 2016, his first year in the league.

It's getting absurd.

Agents (and players) just have to push the limit.

Hypothetically, if all other player's contract info was completely secret, then Michael Thomas would be 1000% happy making 11M per year to play in the NFL.

22 mill for a dude that Brees made??

I wouldn’t pay that if I’m the saints

Brees made. :muttley:

Go back and watch the Sugar Bowl between Ohio State and Alabama. Thomas was better than Cooper then, and he's better now.

Better win a SB soon.

This is the problem when you try to convince yourself to build slow and steady. You can’t hold a roster together forever.

It’s the one large flaw in Jerry and Stephen’s plan.

Tank is making 20million a year. When you think about it, which of the two positions mean the most to a franchise? Pro bowl defensive end or pro bowl wide receiver. I know, I know. Ten sack DE's are hard to find and that's why the price is so high. But a receiver actually means more to a franchise than a defensive end. Just saying.

Well if that DE is Reggie White & WR is Jerry Rice let's say, both mean just as much to the franchise. But that's me.

Aren't too many Reggie Whites' or Jerry Rices' these days. I guess that's do to quick throwing schemes and spreading the ball around.

But me personally I'd take a number one reciever over a stud DE. Because my train of thought is: Dynasties are built on the offensive side of the ball.

They making a big profit regardless lol
No, some teams claimed a fews years back that they were losing money. Some are poorly ran. Without a salary cap very few would turn a profit and they likely would be lesser teams because to do so would be to pay less than market value without a cap.

Maybe, but I would rather keep Jaylon because RB's are easier to replace.
Sure there's a ZEKE on every NFL team and heck you can get one in the 4th round....:omg:

Zeke will not be without a chair come Sept and will be deservedly be he highest paid HB in the league .....look elsewhere for the standing only without a Chair(Non-Deal) in Sept...

Why would the owners do away with the salary cap? This is what keeps them making a profit - a big profit if they are competently ran.
The cap makes each team capable of winning a SB in just a few short seasons worth of rebuild. That makes the game more interesting for teams in low markets. It's the only way to keep the game on top. The only sport without a cap has attendance problems for any team not in a gigantic market.

With Dak about to get severely overpaid, Cooper getting massive dollars and Jaylon around the corner, I don't see an extension for Zeke.

Maybe a franchise tag, then letting him walk.
No, tag and trade.
