Bortles actually was extended 2017 and then released after the Jags signed Foles this year. I don't disagree with your point of guys getting paid just do not think it smart when the team is in the drivers seat. unless it's a real team friendly incentive loaded deal that pays Dak for performance. We will have to see how Dak is after the $$$$ are paid and how much buyers remorse there will be if he doesn't make a major leap in effectiveness. thanks for your input, good talking to you.
The 2017 market was not the same as the 2019 market though, so Bortles in 2017 is not an apples to apples comparison.

Yea, it’s really naive to not believe we couldn’t address our QB in the 1st round. This supporting cast on offense could make many young QB’s look good. We’re basically a more prolific QB away.

There is a gamble in drafting a QB, but there's no way around that. It worked out for us with Aikman and for the Giants with Eli Manning, but there's no guarantee of success. IMO Goff and the Rams are still a question mark. He's done some good things, but the Pats game planned him in the SB to basically exploit every weakness he had and render him totally ineffective. He could still turn out to be an elite QB or he could have hit his ceiling and will burn out. It looked like the Skins had found their man in RG3. The guy looked really great in his rookie season and then it was downhill after that.

QB is just bleepin' hard.

It’s difficult to measure Goff from performance in SB. Belichick is after all the premiere defensive Guru of this era. Remember he shut down the “ Greatest Show on Earth”.

I’m ok with signing Dak to a team friendly deal. If not I’m ok with taking our chances in draft especially if it means we can sign everyone else.

That's a fair point. And I'm not saying Goff is a bust for certain. The jury's kind of out on him. They had a great season with him and then an awful Super Bowl. We'll see how he does from here on out.

I’d argue the great season over shadows the awful SB.

IMO it makes a huge difference how he handles this defeat. If he learns how they exploited his weaknesses and uses that to get a lot better and maybe win a championship, then he could become elite. If he lets it destroy him and he flames out, then he'll just be another bust.

I see him as already being potential Elite going to the Super Bowl. No shame in losing to Patriots.

Winning a championship isn’t necessary to become Elite.

Get lost Romo flunkie. Still whining I see. Need a tissue?
Romo sucks just like Dak. Like how you think everyone that knows Daks bad, must be a Romo fan. You live a sad pathetic live fetishizing over Dak. This crackhead is madly obsessed with Dink Prescott, I'm actually creeped out by this guy.

Poor little Corpus Christi boy. Not getting enough attention at home or entertainment where you live? Go watch the seals play at the Texas State Aquarium. Or go look for seashells along the beach. Leave the Cowboys football discussion to us grownups.

I still think that Eli is way overrated. If he hadn't had a couple of really lucky catches in the two Super Bowls, he would just be considered an average QB at best. I'm shocked that the Giants are sticking with him this season, or maybe they are just saying that.

Nate Burleson makes the case why Dak Prescott deserves to be one of the NFL's highest paid QBs...

Like Nate Burleson said, "Show respect for Dak Prescott."

And like Michael Irvin said, "When you have the heart and soul and leader of your team at the quarterback position, I don't know why we're talking about his money," Irvin said. "That's worth $15-20 million, by itself, a year. Now you got to pay him to play football also. I mean, let's be real here. It shouldn't even be a discussion when we talk about it, and the amount of wins this man has had, and the way he's won football games. It shouldn't even be a discussion. It really shouldn't."

PS: Someone show me Wentz making such plays and pulling rabbits out of some magic hats like Dak is shown have done. Yet, Wentz got paid...

Just cuase he's purdy. There I said it Dak is purdy. Not Miss Purdy but Purdy Purdy:muttley:

IMO Eli was a very good, but not elite, QB, someone you can win the Super Bowl with if you have the right talent around him. That's exactly what the Giants did. On the other hand, I'm with you in surprise that the Giants are sticking with him. I think he's all used up and can no longer be effective in this league.
