The six teams most likely to miss the playoffs after making it in 2018-2019

Dallas Cowboys

I was one of those dead-wrong folks who thought the Eagles would win the NFC East last year. So, mark me down as one of the many people who think Philadelphia will reign supreme in their division this year. The Cowboys are good but not great and didn't do much to improve this offseason. They have a mediocre coach at best, and Dallas is stuck with Jason Garrett because he made the playoffs last year. That might cause the Cowboys to miss the playoffs this year.

lol. I'm guessing the writer didn't do much to improve his non bias observation skills.

Dak seems super focused and everyone has raved about the improvement with his touch on deep passes. And no moe Linehan, which by itself is an improvement. Moore won't be predictable.

DT - added Trysten Hill, Christian Covington, Daniel Wise (has chance making team).
DE - added Robert Quinn, Kerry Hyder, Joe Jackson, Jalen Jelks.
CB - added Michael Jackson (was getting some praise in ota's).
RB - added Tony Pollard, Mike Weber.
WR - added Randall Cobb, Cedric Wilson (out last year, showed promise before injj.), and some ufa rookie wr's coaches also like.
OL - added Conner McGovern, Mitch Hyatt (could make team).

In the last ten years, here's a list of Cowboys teams that performed opposite of expectations, if your expectations were largely based on how the Cowboys performed the last year, mixed in with some draft/FA signings:

2008, 2009, 2010, (hard to perform opposite of expectations when you're 8-8 every year), 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018.

Basically, it's silly to try to think you know what's going to happen with Garrett era Cowboys. Based on what they've done in FA and what I expect from Dak in Year 4, etc, etc, I'd guess a wild card playoff berth this year. But according to recent history, that's way too reasonable.

Based on the trends going back to 2014 this is supposed to be a bad year....

Right, that's my point. At the same time, it's hard to imagine that it's actually ingrained in this team to have a good year after a bad year, and a bad year after a good one. But that is what's happened lately.

That's why they play the games instead of listening to these self-proclaimed "experts" make their predictions.

We will see what we will see. Nobody knows what will happen.

I think they'll have some offensive growing pains because of the OC change, but that's good and hopefully will lead to a stronger start than last year. I think defensively they'll be solid. But who knows for sure? It's going to be a hard fight for first for NFC East for any of the teams. Nobody is skating in this division.

Absolutely no one knows how any team will play this season. But the facts are this Cowboys team going into this season is the most talented team on paper since the 90's. So if I personally had to make a prediction I would say the Cowboys are definitely making the playoffs.

yeah...sucks too bc unfortunatly this team has just been so snakebit....i truly hope they buck the trend but I fear we may have high hopes that end up getting dashed yet again

hard to argue that...bottom to top the team is very talented....i still worry about injuries taking the team down

I think you can add Cooper to your WR list. He was the 1st round pick of the cowboys in 2019

Nostradamus speaks lmao none and I mean no one can predict sport but NFL football is the toughest and they get it wrong A LOT..there were 3 teams mid season last year counted out for the playoffs, us one of them and they all made it..:) that after half season played..:)

Not sure this good year bad year deal is coming from. Dak has only had winning records since becoming the starter. If you want to say make the playoffs and miss the playoffs, ok but Dallas will be in the conversation for the playoffs as long as Dak is healthy.

Move along folks.. nothing to see here

The problem with all predictions this time of the year is .. said opinions are based solely on paper rosters. And they never consider what’s possibly #1 determining factor... Injuries. The health of teams toward the end of the season probably is more important than talent. That said, Dallas has plenty of youth on their side.

Not to mention, our Boys roster is basically the same roster that managed to get to the second round of the playoffs last year..

The losses of Beasley, Rod Smith, and Irving (who I’m not even sure if I should mention) is a wash when you consider the proven talent of Cobb, Quinn, and Frederick. And I haven’t even mentioned the talent we drafted or the number of young guys on the team that will inevitably improve.

This guys obviously bias opinion is ridiculous and meant for the dead time of the offseason. Aka- click bait.
