CC, if the Dak destractors would stop h*'ing on Dak with a bunch of nonsense, I would be more than happy to stop using the h*'e word as well.
Don’t have an issue with bashing Jerry or Garrett, etc

Everyone under the Star should be fair game for criticism and bashing without getting personal with hate for fellow fans.

The issues we are having with Dakster clan are just like with Schlomo. Lol

Coach, can we still use Homers. How about Slobbering? That seems to quiet down the Dakster Cult. Lol

Hate is just a word used loosely this generation attempting to discredit criticism.

I heard the younger kids calling others” gays “recently and I asked are they really. And they laughed and said no, it also meant stupid.

The word "hate' gets thrown around the forum too freely and I am taking the pledge not to use that word again in here.

We are surrounded by hate in our own country and the world and most of us come here to take a break from the real world with others that share the same feeling about their team. Yep, even some come to argue and debate as part of this but hate is just too strong a word to use here.

So, I CouchCoach, do solemnly pledge not to use that word in ANY post, even in the attempt to repel it, and the Staff here has my permission to give me a time out for breaking my pledge.

My fellow posters, please join me in removing this word from a place it has no place in.
It's a choice. Intensely loathe? I might add, the noun that is a derivative of that word.

I have never seen a need for that word because we are all Cowboys fans with differing opinions. That doesn't make anyone a hater. If I don't agree that a player is as bad as someone says, then I'll present an argument for why I believe that player is better than that. If something is unfairly being used to prop up a player, then I'll point out why the argument isn't fair. At one point of time, this was simply called a discussion.

Those who are unable to have an open discussion resort to things like name-calling, and hater seems to be their favorite word if you disagree with them. It's a sad thing that is reflected in too many aspects of our society. In general, though, it does help me to see who is just arguing irrationally instead of actually being willing to debate the merits of a post.

Rather than swearing off using the word hater, which I believe most who would take that pledge already rarely use, I think a better movement would be a blockade of those who use the word. In other words, if there is a discussion about a player and someone comes into it and calls someone else a hater, then no one responds to the name-caller for the rest of the thread. Eventually, such a boycott might have the desired effect.

Our tendency is to just fire back, which just fans the flames, when it's likely best to let "hater" speech just die on the vine. Most of those who use the word are trying to provoke, so maybe we should just not take the bait.
Agree. I pretty much already do that. Admittedly, though, at times I do get caught up in it!!!!

I don't think banning a word is helpful. People feel what they feel. To a man, we probably all hate certain teams, certain fans, and certain things. It's an instrinsically human emotion. Banning the word "hate" won't make us feel hate any less. We hate turnovers and interceptions from our own team, we hate losing.

You might as well ban the word "love" and wonder why it doesn't make us love things any less. The emotion remains unchanged.
I think this thread is more about the stoppage of using silly terms that don't accurately convey what is really meant. Using the terms such as "hater" is a pretty close corollary to the grade school "you are".

Yes! Hate and hater get tossed around more than salads these days. It's possible not to be a fan of someone without hating them.
