why does this give you confidence? I can give you 40 other responses from other QBs and players in the past 10 years saying something similar!!! its called a sound bite and its what they are supposed to say.
I actually chuckled. I read an article today quoting Case Keenum quoting that his transfer to the Commanders is what's going to take him to the next level.

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!!!!

....that's why I luve this guy. That determination in a QB is not rudimentary. Its a trait in his DNA. We got to build a team around him.

There are plenty of threads for expressing more frustration. I know I'm in the huge minority, but I've enjoyed this run starting from 2014 on. We've had three teams that were capable of contending in the NFC in the postseason in 2014, 2016, and 2018. I think we have another in 2019. Considering there are 2-3 teams capable of contending in a conference on average each season, It's not exactly a Trail of Tears that we haven't made farther yet. Teams win championships by building contenders and taking advantage of their breaks. It's a good thing that we're in that group right now, and it's hard to get here. I'm not going to waste it by being pissed off about it until the team delivers what we all want to see. Being a contender is what makes watching football fun.

We have had a good enough team on 3 different occasions and Garrett has bumbled it each time. Last year, we had a shot and McVay out coached him and he failed to make the proper adjustments. I cant say he actually bumbled the clock management like both times against GB and Rogers. But he was clearly out coached by McVay and made no adjustments what so ever to what McVay was doing to our defense.

Now you can drum up the excuse that Garrett doesn't coach the defense, but if I am the HC, its my job to pick these things up. Its also my job to watch hours of film and come up with something like McVay did about the tells of our D lineman when we are going to stunt.

Does anyone besides you and his mother think that Garrett would ever come up with something like that?

But alas, we all know that Garrett has been robbed of being the champion that he is because he has been saddled with a lack of talent here in Dallas.

"Held back by talent" as you put it.

True, but they don't handle the football all of the time like a QB does. QBs have the best opportunity to show their worth or improvement within a short amount of time. Dak keeps showing progress. If he was regressing, I would be right there with you asking for a change at QB, but that has not been the case with Dak. This year has been set up to truly allow Dak to show how good he is. Let's see what happens.
I agree. I don't know how you would not roll forward knowing he's been solid. And there's not reason to assume he won't play better.

Dak will win the MVP this year. Most Cowboys fans will still claim that neither Dak or JG had anything to with it.

It all depends on the situation. If Dak goes off and the passing game hits its stride because of the bold play calling and adjustments of Moore, then yah, people should rightfully claim that Garrett did little.

As far as Dak goes and him winning MVP.............there will always be a handful of trolls that will never give Dak credit, but who really cares? Does anyone listen to them at this point anyway?

Dak was in the MVP race his rookie year.

Now if Garrett would have taken back the play calling, made all the offensive adjustments on his own and spiced up the offense with big plays and creativity then of course he should get a lot of credit.

But Garrett has had that opportunity for 10 years here and has come up with NOTHING. In fact, Jones has forced Garrett further and further away from the offense. If the offense suddenly takes off with Garrett at the furthest point of removal then why should anyone give him credit?

None of those occasions did we lose the games due to coaching.

Don’t pretend after the fact that ANYBODY thought the Cowboys had a better team than the Rams going into last season.

And stop randomly making up quotes and arguments and trying to attribute them where they don’t apply.

I think this is the year when the run game is going to open big plays in the passing game, and the passing game will open big plays for the run.

Cooper, Gallup, and jarwin are going to be making highlights. Dak is going to take a big step.

Of course we didnt lose because of coaching. Because that would be Garretts fault. LOL

More talent then the Rams? Definitely not, but we had enough talent to win the game.

So when thier coaching staff noticed a tell on the Cowboys Dline that lead the way for them to rush for 250 yards what do you call that? Luck? LOL

Did you NOT claim that Garrett is good enough to win a championship and that we just haven't had have enough talent?

Would you like me to pull up the your quote for you?

In general,I’d like you to pull actual quotes and use them in a context that makes sense instead of just making them up based off of what you think you remember from other possibly unrelated threads, yes.

I just want to get it straight before I crush another one of your lies:

Are you denying this quote?: "Garrett is good enough to win a championship. The only reason he hasn't is the Cowboys haven't had enough talent for him to do so"

I agree with him. I think this team is talented, and if they don’t make noise it’s because of themselves.

I wouldn’t want a player who was okay with just being “good” or “ok”. Absolutely want a guy who has the desire to be one of the greats. How anyone would have an issue with that is beyond me.

If it’s a quote, go ahead and link it. As I said, context matters. But that doesn’t sound like the sort of sweeping statement I’d make.

I do think Garrett is plenty good enough as a coach to win a championship. I do think players win championships for the most part. But matchups, luck, officiating, and enough other variables come into play in an NFL playoff game. I can’t imagine I said that talent was the *only* reason.

But since that’s not what I disputed above, it’s irrelevant. This is just more of your silliness, mistaking itself for an actual argument.

So when pressed you admit you said it. Looks like I didn't "make up" anything now did I?

That’s not what my post said. I’m sorry that’s not obvious to you, genuinely.

I'm with you. I've enjoyed how the team's been playing for the last five years, for the most part. I thought they missed opportunities in 14 & 16 to get to the NFC Championship game, but with increased frequent opportunities they might just break through.
I have thought they have lacked the talent on defense to win it all, but this year I'm very optimistic, especially with so much young talent at LB & the secondary, vets like Lawrence & Quinn off the edges and having a couple of squatty run stuffers like Woods & Covington at DT.
We need a real breakout performance at 3T, though, to get over the top IMO.
Either Collins suddenly lighting it up in s contract year or Hill coming on like gangbusters.
We shall see.
TBH, I have given Garrett a ton of grief.
With that said, I don't think he's a bad coach, maybe middle of the road?
He's done some good things.
