This is a good team. I fully expect 12-4 or 13-3 and fighting for the top seed in nfc against the saints. However, I still not sure this team is coached well enough to smack the big dogs in the playoffs, but that’s been the story of the cowboys for a long time now. Until I see them actually kicking *** in the playoffs I will be pessimistic in that regard. And coaching matter big time on the playoffs.

9-7 and miss the playoffs, Garrett gets a 5 year extension and Dak is the highest payed QB in the game.

that would be absolutely terrible and don't see how jerry jones can sell Garrett as a future head coach to the cowboy fans . I hope this does not happen .

And high, pipe dream for anyone who thinks Peyton is coming here!

Why not Moore after seeing the rams win with a rookie HC . , Plus , who would jerry bring in if it is not payton ? Lincoln Riley at OU would be the top candidate from college football. but OU just raised his salary to 6.5 mil plus incentives.

Will win the division and go to the SB We will lose it on some bogus call like the Dez catch and Garrett will gt his extension because of it. The Off season will be spent with 1000 blogs started of who we were cheated. Some video geek will capture the bogus call on video and Godolf will say I just didnt see it that way. There will be several suicides and Jerry will set up a crisis hotline for us fans.

We're due for a bad season. Seems like we can't string back to back winning seasons. I think we can win 12 games and get to the championship game if Dak can handle the pressure of a new contract or the pressure of earning a new contract.
We were 9-7 2 years ago and won the east last year. That's literally the definition of back to back winning seasons. However I also despise our coach and know where you were going with the comment lol

I am cautiously optimistic. If Garrett can keep his hands off Moore’s offense they have a chance to be very hard to stop. I think the pass rush should be improved. The safety spot will still be mediocre at best as they refuse to address it. But I am putting trust in Kitna to help Dak tighten up the mechanics and footwork just a bit to bring him from an already 66% completion qb to maybe 69-70%, which is tremendous. My disdain for Garrett is well documented but the proof is in the pudding. Get to the championship game and play well in it, not a Rams game no show and he’d earn an extension imo. One win and out is not good enough with this talent. I think IF Moore is truly allowed to do his thing they will have an advantage for a few weeks, as teams won’t know what to prepare for. I will say 11-5 and a trip to the NFC title game.

Agree .
I believe a one playoff win won’t do it this year for Garrett , unless Jerry has absolutely no chance of landing a top quality coach .

I am going to be honest. Every year we have talent in droves. Injuries, suspensions, coaching, and front office blunders by Jerry and company or a combination always seem to undo the team. It's Murphy's Law if it can happy it will happen. The fact this team still employs Randy Gregory baffles my mind and jolts me back to reality. The fact Crawford a guy who's been an upstanding citizen is acting a fool too is disconcerting as all get out.

I want to see it on the field. I am not going to bring out the pom poms and just blindly say we are super bowl bound. Zeke is being an idiot again and it's one of those things it could be falling apart. With how much we rely on Zeke.

I think we have improved a bit, but not enough to make it to the SB on pure talent alone. Until we have a coach who can scheme, (and until we upgrade over Heath) I don't see going any further than last season at best.

Barring any major injury to a key player I say 11-5 and we reach the NFC title game.

Our offense will be better than last years which i think was good enough to win it all. With T Fred coming back , better wr's , better rbs, and Witten leading a better group of TE's that should be easy. The D line, to me, is the grey area. They played well in the regular season but came up lame and lost it for us vs the rams. Theres been some interesting turnover upfront so its kind of an unknown. I think that signing one of the big name DT's would be the missing piece to putting us over the edge but i lean toward trusting what McClay and co. have done with the draft and fa signings.

I know this. We will be tough to beat.

Moore hasnt even coached a game yet and he is still in his 20's not 40 plus, he is just a kid and is YEARS away from being a HC if ever. Peyton himself said it aint happening so "flush" "swoosh". I want a Parcells, Belecheck type coach who will not be afraid of upsetting players and who will make them EARN their spot!

Yeah I agree, also it is the odd year, and recently cowboys only do good in even years.
I think the schedule is tougher than many think, so 10-6 is what I will go with.

The other thing is fans and media are saying dallas is set to have a good year, and cowboys usually do the opposite when that happens.

I have us going 10-6
Starting out hot at 6-1, only losing in NO. Sweeping the skins, splitting with the Gmen and filthydumpia, losing to Minny, NE and LA.
Going 4-2 and winning the NFCE again. 8-5 in the NFC gets us a 3 seed. Being the 3 seed we get a win in rd 1 and than lose on the road in rd 2 vs 1 seed.

JG is getting extended unless this team tanks.

Exactly. It's as if the season is set up to fail. I will be honest with saying I hope that I am wrong that we breakthrough.

I'm guessing that both the Cowboys and the Eagles will have winning seasons this year with the Eagles enjoying an easier schedule. With that type of a scenario being the case, it seems we're at a disadvantage, although, if Wence's health betrays him to any noticeable degree, it'll hurt them. I wouldn't be surprised if either team makes the playoffs with the other failing to do so. This season honestly appears to be somewhat unpredictable, if nothing else.
It feels a bit like last year before the regular season - different. Linehan's absence allows me to feel more hopeful, but we will see if the personnel purge is complete.
Injuries aside, I say we are capable of winning the division and a playoff game or two. The semi-annual flip flop of bad and good seasons had roots in bad defenses, draft failures, untimely suspensions, key injuries, inconsistent game planning, and coaching changes. Lots of turmoil.
The last few seasons have shown more consistency in the number of wins.
Wins aside, the unknown is the quality of the wins and losses.
