What qualifies as the rest is history here? They dumped tebow and brought in Manning who had a historical offense just to fail in the end then finally win one with a great D while playing as a ghost of his former self. He was damn near as bad as tebow at times his final season.
In 2011 Tebow averaged 123.5 yards a game passing, that would be bad in the 70s, a year later with the only significant change being the qb Manning averaged 291 and the year after set NFL records for passing. Tebow is a good guy and we need more like him in this world but we don't need more qbs like him.
So you qualify the rest is history as the few years he played exceptional and not the downfall that was more sudden than expected?

Yeah, the Cowboys got caught up with winning in 2016 but a good organization looks into the how and why and also can separate the qb play and evaluate it on it's own just as they should every position. If they had done that then they wouldn't have been so heads over heels behind Daks performance, we/he had a lot of things that went his way in 2016 that you can't replicate. Teams need philosophies and formulas to win and "just win baby" is not a formula that can be replicated. The way Tebow was winning was not sustainable, I mean they beat KC with him throwing 8 passes and completing 2 for 69 yards. He had 5 games where he completed 10 or less passes and they were 4 and 1 in those games. So they were winning but the were doing so in spite of him.

Manning set NFL records in 2013 so it wasn't his fault that they didn't win the sb at least he got them there.

Ok you're leaving out a few years to make a different point than the rest is history. No problem.

Do you think that the Broncos regret choosing Manning over Tebow even with the poor last year (statistically better than Tebows)? They went to 2 sbs and won 1.

well spend more time practicing, and less time playing with ***** squirt guns. Has it been reported of he staying late after practice, or showing up early?

Pretty good. I thought he was not accurate.

We've heard and seen many former NFL QBs with big-arms but couldn't win consistently. More times than not you could point to their intangibles alone with a lot of little things. I see Dak as the exact reverse.......no he doesn't have the big-time arm but we keep seeing over and over small stats ranking him in top 10, some top 5. As insignificant as some may seem, they add up. Tally a bunch of these small stats alone with off the chart intangibles for a QB that rarely throws interceptions, he's going to win more games for you than not.

Other words, not the prettiest or sexist but extremely efficient.......

I believe I said this before. On-the-job training is over. He needs to progress. He can't stay the same or go backwards if he does he's just the best backup in the league. This is the season for me from what I've already seen in him my expectations are for him to improve. Confidence in the reading defenses we'll take care of most of his issues
if he stays an average middle of the pack QB, not saying that in a negative way... he is good, not great. he has some good traits, some flaws. but if he stays average and middle of the pack, then we have to go the route of Ravens like they did with Trent Dilfer. he needs a strong supporting cast and has the skills to manage the team to wins...

its nice to be regular season champs they give u a trophy if u win the division but in the playoffs where the big boys play we usually take our football and go home early in the thing talking in the offseason this cowboys team is really good for that when they make a deep post season playoff run get back to me otherwise I have lowered my expectation and will continue to do that

It’s been reported he is one of the hardest workers on the team since he was a rookie.

If he Dak fails. It’s not due to lack of effort

its not about eye ball test..... if you don't know the difference, then I can't help you..... talk to your local HS QB coach and he can explain/show it to you

If it’s not about people using their nonsense eyeball test. Please point to the factual data that spells out Dak having poor accuracy.

I’ll wait.

Then you’re foolish enough to make a nonsense post about HS coaches. Meanwhile actual professional football coaches think Dak is accurate enough to be a starter in the league.

Laughable.

For reasons most posters know ......you wouldn't understand

If you as a true Cowboy fan are not encouraged to hear this.....I don't know what to tell ya

Jesus Christ, you'd think it's something every fan would to like hear from every player on the roster.

I know, right? Honestly! It's as if some fans would rather he say, "I'm complete ****, and I'm going to go 0-16 this season." I dunno what to say to those blokes.

there you go again..... being sensistive...small criticism of Dak and you are off the deep end....who said he is not good enough to be starter in this league? that's not the question. the question is where he ranks compared to his collegues in the league and the argument has been he is middle of the pack...all I said he needs to IMPROVE his accuracy.... you heard and translated that to "he is no accurate".....

you dak fanatics are a very sensitive bunch

Right, everyone knows the eyeball test is the best way to determine accuracy.

read this article...the part about Jamies Winston...you will hopefully get it then..its not a hard concept.accuracy and completion percentage aren't the same thing.. but to those simple football minds its an easy mistake

"....We emphasized with him that a completion isn’t just a completion, there’s different levels,” Christensen said. “If I throw a ball two yards behind the guy and he makes a catch, you gain 10 yards. But if I’d thrown it out in front of him, the play gains 16 yards. It’s just trying to establish the correct mentality on accuracy, timing and anticipation. We worked really hard with him on just getting ourselves aligned correctly.....”
