I can name one big one. Michael Irvin. Loved him but some of the stuff he did off the field was ridiculous. I still blame him for derailing our 1996 season. What did Zeke do? He pulled a woman's top down that she didn't mind and love tapped a security guard. Give me a break. That crap with that woman was bogus. Even the NFL's investigator said their was no proof. What Zeke has done is a bunch of childish things...nothing more.
and as far as i know, he's still paying for some of the off the field stuff he's done. he caught a lot of flack and was in and out of trouble. but it was also 20+ years ago and the league has changed.

any players in the last 5 years getting away with such things?

those claiming anything less than 7-8 games, please explain this rationale.. Roger has already dropped the hammer on Zeke and that suspension came with a very clear warning about future incidents

If Goodell serves up a 1 gamer, the rest of the league is going to come down hard on him for not keeping his word.. he'll look weak.

i don't think they really care about "his side" of the story anymore. you get that benefit of doubt first few times. After that the problem is just you.
Could be but there are always two sides to it but the fact a video exists and was on TMZ puts the player in a corner.

The other part of this is that the league office knows a lot more about Elliott than any of us do and probably more than the Cowboys FO. Think when they heard his HC got his father to move to Columbus didn't perk their ears up? When that DV thing popped up, he was already circling just outside the radar. In a he said/she said, there were already doubts about his side before it all started.

Hey why don't you read my original post. I was talking about our SB teams. We haven't won squat since then. What does that have to do with anybody else? And I said times have changed and he can't do half those things anymore.

Edit: Sorry about blowing up. It just wasn't what I was talking about. I was comparing things Zeke has done to some of our SB players.

His concern is how he looks to his employers and I doubt many are sympathetic to Booger or Elliott. His idea to do away with pot and off the field behavior went over like poop in a church pew.

Indefinite suspension amounts to banishment, they don't have to go that extra step. The player has to petition for re-instatement and the league doesn't have to comply even with a hearing.
This is his second round of it.

No way he gets banished for this but I also didn’t think he would get 6 games the first time. I’m upping my guess to 2-4 games but I often like to think pessimistically so if it’s something less I’ll be happy.
I was talking about Gregory and him missing a drug test. He was suspended indefinitely and hit reinstated only to miss another test.

Imagine it’s to hear Zekes side of the story and gauge his remorse about the incident and his future . Then they’ll internally mull it over and reach a decision sometime before training camp.
Ya know, Rocky, I made the wrong assumption. I really didn't consider this might be the first time that they've actually spoken to Elliott about this. I just assumed they'd spoken with him and he was being called to the principal's office. I really have no idea where they are in the investigative part of this or who they've spoken with. And their investigation is without teeth as no one has to talk with them.

and that's my point. there comes a time where you can't say it's someone elses fault when you've been told "stop" for several times already.

I suppose the rationale would be the infraction itself being so minor?

While this is true, I think the bigger issue is the fact he keeps making these bad decisions and putting himself in these situations, like *** dude just behave yourself in public.

I think hes behaved like an idiot and needs to grow up. That said Im thinking he wont be facing a lengthy suspension AT THIS POINT.

But yes, I agree on what the larger issue is.

When he's negotiating a new contract I would hope the prior incidents are taken into account. On field performance no question he deserves to be the highest paid RB, but can be be trusted knowing he's an incident away from missing serious playing time?

Yup, I obviously want them to resign him due what he can do for us on the field but they better have a clause in there where they can get out cheap if he screws up for ANYTHING.
