Durability generally goes to build. Watson has that skinny build that is often not conducive to staying on the field in the NFL. He came in as a brash Rook, and his health now depends on whether he learned his lesson. At one point he stated/bragged that throwing his body around was just the way he played, and he wasn't going to change his style. If he continues in that thinking, he'll soon be an afterthought like RGIII. To be seen.

Run game: Texans were 8th in the running game last season and have a fine talent in Lamar Miller. I think you might want to check on stuff like that before posting.

What lesson? He got hurt in practice.

The Dak world is fully of conundrums like this.............. such as when people say you can't pay Dak all that money because he's a game manager needing guys like Elliott and Cooper to succeed, the Dak supporters get all up in arms.

But then turn around and excuse Dak's 2017 performance because he didn't have Elliott for 6 games.

And the early part of 2018 when he didn't have Cooper. Not that he was all that great after that, but his style is of the variety that inflates passer rating a great deal over actual performance.

There's no trend. RGIII's game fell apart because he couldn't throw the football. It's a silly comparison.

They were 19th in ypc, and Watson scrambling/running on designed passing plays inflates the numbers. They are a crappy run team with a crappy OL and depend entirely on Watson. It's basically mimics Seattle's offense with Wilson. Lamar Miller is one of the worst starting backs in football and can't break a tackle to save his life. https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/fantasy-football-lamar-miller-non-elusive-texan

Over 10 NFL reporters/editors submitted a list of their ten best QBs right now and points were assigned and a final list was created.

Dak is not on it. Neither was Wentz, although he just missed apparently.

Dak isn't remotely close to being a Top 10 quarterback. It's laughable to claim otherwise.

But he's about to be paid like he's the best in the league.
Goal is to be in the top 12 QB's since 12 teams make the playoffs but it's really good to be in the top 8. But wait a minute, it isn't the top 12 QB's that make the playoffs, it's the top 12 teams.

As CC said, it's the top teams that make the playoffs. There are no bonus points for a team based on where media or fans rank their QB.

How does Aikman rank vs Marino? I know Aikman won 3 Super Bowls and Marino won Zero.

Eli Manning won 2.

No, he's about to be paid like he's negotiating in a time where the market is up. Pay really isn't a QB ranking system. The only way it could be is if every QB renegotiated every year.

Watson. Average. LOL.

Saying Allen has a better chance of being elite than Watson. Another LOL.
Watson is better today, but he is what he is. Allen has a lot of room to grow and better raw ability, and I think he'll be the better pro in the end. We'll see.

You're right. The Cowboys win games in spite of their QB play. That has a limited life though, especially if you give him 20% of your salary cap.

What's up w/ your lovefest w/ Allen? He plays like Dak lite, and appears to be even more inaccurate than Dak.
True, but he has incredible arm talent and improved as the season went. I'm interested to watch him this year.

I think Mayfield will be lighting it up by year's end.

If this is worth 30 million bucks a year then Pink elephants can fly...
This is it for the entire 2018 season of Dak's passing game over 35 yards completions.....I repeat the ENTIRE 2018 season.
30 million ya right.......????

Watson was significantly better, and as a rookie too. Allen doesn’t have better skills and was inaccurate in college. Guys like that suddenly don’t turn into Tom Brady.

Tom Brady did. He wasn't much in college.

Allen has to put it together, sure. But the tools are immense, and he's tough as hell.

That list is terrible, Watson top 10? Wilson top 5? What did Aaron Rodgers do last year to be top 2? Yikes...

Who cares. After this year, those rankings are gonna shift again and we'll be having another conversation. All the LOLs and speculations people put here will be put to rest again. And again.

And It's very likely that Dak could slide into that top 10 at the end of this year. It's not homer bias, it's simply a very likely possibility.
