The Lakers will certainly have an old team, but they’re going to have a good team nonetheless after buyouts happen. At minimum I think they’ll end up with something like this.

C- Anthony Davis, JaVale McGee
PF- Kyle Kuzma
SF- LeBron James, Kyle Korver
SG- Andre Igoudala, JR Smith
PG- Rajon Rondo

I’m not sure if Rondo takes the minimum, so they may have a huge hole at PG...but they could also still add Kawhi

Not me. I think we haven't heard the last from Boston and they have some pieces.

No matter how many moves Ainge makes...your always left with the feeling...That's the best they could do? Honestly...I think Boston needs a new GM...Ainge does just enough to keep Boston competitive. W/ all the picks they had...I'm shocked he didn't come away w/ a top player in the draft or free agency. And please don't try and sell me on Kemba Walker. He's ok...but they over paid to get a 30 year old point guard.

That's not mostly true lol.

A. He has stated he wasn't a Lakers fan growing up. He was an Iverson fan.
https://bleacherreport.com/articles...snt-lakers-fan-growing-up-liked-allen-iverson
B. His home is in San Diego, 2-3 hours from LA. And it is owned by an LLC.
https://www.latimes.com/business/re...nard-rancho-santa-fe-home-20190124-story.html
C. If he signs in LA he pays city taxes and state income tax. He doesn't pay those if he lives outside California most of the year. Property tax is only 1% in CA.
Partyear residents of California are taxed on all income received while a resident and only on income from California sources while a nonresident .
D. He flew from Cali to TOR with TOR mgmt lol.

I just heard today, three different sources say he was a Kobe fan growing up and a Laker fan.

San Diego is in SoCal, is it not, which is what I said. In addition, I just read an article from Forbes stating different.

I don't know what difference it makes that he flew with Management or one of the teams jets or whatever. If the Tax thing is true, and I don't really see how it would not be, I don't see it.

I get Spurs fans feel this way but there's really little to demonstrate that's true.
He was very upset that SAS vets playing out their careers used the media to bully him into playing injured.
The org focus was one more run with the old men versus building around Kawhi.
It put him at odds with them.
Pop losing his wife and miserable at surly at the same time was not in a position to coddle anyone or course correct the relationship.

I truly feel for you guys on this. I am a rabid enemy but you drafted and developed this kid and he turned into the best player in the league.
Trading him off at his peak for a set of used golf clubs is hurtful I know.

End of day we will see what KL decides and I am sure some of his thoughts and motivations will come out.
Well, your comment about Pop shows that you have no clue. No offense. But Pop has ALWAYS coddled his players. After an injury he keeps them out much longer than most if not all any other coach in the league. And if you don’t think Parker, Ginobolli and other didn’t first speak to him personally well that again shows that you have no idea what you are talking about when it comes to the Spurs. They shy away from the media and keep everything in house as much as possible. The fact that Parker said what he said was after months of trying to get across to him one on one. Leonard used his minor injury to show he wanted out. And the only thing that hurt about him leaving was that ignorant fans like yourself ended up feeling like you do based on just what you hear in the media.

Boardman was not a good little soldier for Pop and his mind games. That upsets Spurs fan you're stuck with Emo DeRosen.
Josh Jackson just got trade to Vancouver. So that is 3 out of the first 4 picks of the supposedly strong 2017 draft to be after only two years
The Grizzlies play in Memphis now. I went to one of their games in 2016 with my uncle while attending my grandma's funeral.

Masai came out yesterday and basically said if you dive deep into contracts being in Canada has no tax implications whatsoever. I'll take the word of the guy writing the contract as opposed to an American magazine hoping kawhi leaves lol

Yes, of course. It's always wise to take the word of the guy trying to sell something. I completely understand.

One of these days, I'll tell you a story about how I ended up with a 30 ft. Toy Hauler and the 3500 Dodge I had to buy to pull it with.

Unfortunately for you the whole taxes thing is a farce. You can look it up if you like. I mean unless you're an agent or lawyer you wont understand but hey all the power to you to prove masai wrong

drafting sucks. it just does. there's a truly sure thing every 3-4 years.
remember how wiggins was this once in a generation star that teams tanked for?
now minny cant even trade him with a pick for cap relief.

Thank you. This notion of our taxes being worse has been debunked more than once but people keep saying it. Its humorous at this point.
It's goofy because Texas has ZERO state income tax and financially he was one of the very best cities in the world in SA.
If that was a major concern he'd have been all in on the Mavs or staying with the Spurs.
LA is one of the 5 highest taxed places in the entire United States.

Or, you can prove him right. I posted an article. It's not on me to try and prove anything right or wrong, I didn't write the Article. Are you an agent or a lawyer? If so, then you can explain it to us. If not, then by your own admission, you don't understand it.

I think if Kawhi doesn't sign with the Lakers today he won't be able do so tomorrow for cap reasons unless they also postpone the AD trade for a day or two. So i'm guessing if it's not today then it will be the Raps or Clips.

Exhausted, too much walking and it's too hot outside. Hoping the Lakers sign Kawhi today. How you doing?

I'm good. I'm kinda split on the Kawhi thing, to be honest. I mean, he's a great player and I would have loved to have signed him with all the young guys we traded but the way I see it, if the Lakers don't sign him, they will have a ton of cap to go out and add some strong pieces around James and AD. Seriously, I think AD is the best player in the NBA when he's right. I see him being the corner stone of a very strong Laker team for years to come. I guess I'm good either way.
