A link to the poll or list of 12 better than him might help.

Off the top of my head, receivers who are clearly better than cooper?

Julio
AB
Deandre
OBJ
Mike Evans
Michael Thomas
Tyreek Hill

Those are the only ones odd the top of my head that are clearly better. I may have missed one.

There are quite a few more that you can argue are as good or better than Cooper. But not 12 who are clearly and definitively better. The pair in Minnesota for instance. Juju smith schuster, Allen Robinson, Edelman, etc. but they are all debatable.

Yeah I'd probably say these guys are the ones you'd have a hard time arguing for. There are a few guys that you can argue he's in the same class. I mean its debatable if he's top 12 but when he got to Dallas he played like one of the best receivers in the league.

He's never going to get the credit he should as a receiver because he's not a jump and go get it receiver and he's not a blazing fast 4.3 guy. He makes the game look easy and I think that hurts him. But when all of these guys start to lose their speed and athleticism........its only going to be a few left standing and Cooper will be one of those guys.

He is in that top 12-ish area. It is not really an outrage if he is ranked just outside of that.

I would rank these players ahead of him. But mainly because he needs to have another great season to elevate himself.

Julio Jones
A.J. Green
Odell Beckham
Davante Adams
DeAndre Hopkins
Tyreek Hill
Keenan Allen
Stefon Diggs
Adam Thielen
Michael Thomas
Antonio Brown
Mike Evans
Fans  WR stats are greatly affected by the type of offense they are in. Fans, and obviously Cowboy fans, don’t understand that our offense sine we drafted Zeke has been a run it down your throat offense. There’s some really aware fans here, and then there are ......

 oh no he's being disrespected.
All that matters to me is that he makes this offense better:flagwave:

Some fans just can't understand that other teams have good players too

Stats weren't even mentioned in his post.

We've been a run it down your throat offense since 2014 not since Zeke was drafted, and Cooper has only been a part of that for half a season. and in that half a season the cowboys were 13th in the league in pass attempts

Some fans just need to be more aware

My WR rankings are:

Tier 1:
Julio
Beckham
Hopkins
Evans

Tier 2:
Brown
Green
Thomas
TyFreak

and then Coop's on tier 3. The next group of guys are all on about his level: JuJu, Keenan Allen, Brandin Cooks, etc, but I wouldn't say any of them all clear-cut better than Coop.

So what's that, 8 players that are clearly better than him? You can argue the rest however, but I think Amari is going to land somewhere in the top 12 for sure.

Thomas
Odell
Julio
Brown
Hopkins
AJ Green when healthy
Tyreke
Probably Evans

Those are the only definite for me

He's in the next tier

And his closest comparable player as far as skill and play style is Diggs

I actually feel like Michael Thomas is the perfect comparison. Similar height / weight, fantastic route runners, can break tackles and run after the catch, and capable of cartoonish monster games

There again, I understand this posts contents. I guess I was depending on the original to take in affect the systems they play in and their use. If, its just stats period...its just junk. You have to understand what you are looking at to appreciate the outcome. I still say, 12 WR's are not ahead of Cooper.

Awesome, a challenge!!!

Let's see, w/o looking at any lists or any other posts on this thread:

Julio Jones
Hopkins
Mike Evans
Antonio Brown
AJ Green

TY Hilton
OBJ
Michael Thomas
Edelmann
Keenan Allen

Landry
Thielen

That was easy, what y'all got?

Also:

Davante Adams
Stefan Diggs
Smith-Schuster
Tyreek Hill
Brandin Cooks

Yeah, I could see him getting left off at this point in his career.

There are some similarities but two differences I'd point to is Thomas has much better hands or concentration and that Cooper doesnt use his size like Thomas does. Thomas is way above average after the catch, but give me Cooper.

I agree. After watching Cooper for 7 or so games and how he ran routes, the guy is elite. And that was in an offense that the beer hawker in the stands knew what play was coming with just a glance.

Hmmmm. Maybe better to ask who you would rather have. The whole package. Today. For me it is just Hopkins and Julio. The other guys have question marks. OBJ is a cancer. No way I would rather have him. Hill might be out if the league. AB is old and a major idiot. Thomas is hard to gauge because Brees makes them all better. Evans? Nope. Cooper is right up there.

No, I cannot. You must also consider the wr's value to his team. Obj's a superstar. But cooper does more for the cowboys as a whole.

I'm not one to be unduly influenced by the outside ratings, as many of them make judgments based on history.

If Cooper either maintains or betters the season that he enjoyed in 2018, I'll likely be doing mental cartwheels!
All I know about Cooper, or am seriously concerned with, is what he'll be doing in the months to come.

I definitely agree on that. I was basing my list on pure ability. But if you add in off the field issues and character in the locker room, you’re right, Amari passes quite a few of those knuckleheads.

Cooper has the exact attitude you want in a football player.

Let's see:

Not top 12 in receptions, yards, TDs, yards per reception, or any other meaningful stat.
