Stats will also prove that not one, not two, but three running backs had great success running in this scheme with this line.
What three backs?

What three backs?
Demarco Murray, Darren McFadden, and now Elliott.
So what's your point? Are you saying ANY RB can carry this offense like Murray and Zeke?
You think these guys arent watching what is taking place in the NBA where the players have taken control of the league? But, this is the NFL my friend. The Chargers must stand firm. This goes back to what I just posted about yesterday. Whats the point of having these rookie deals if the teams get held hostage everytime a player plays well during their rookie deal? I would fine his arse for every day and let him sit and rot before I gave him a new deal. Gordon has had 1 really good season and he thinks he deservs a new deal. Cmon chargers.... play hardball.
Dude .....you're on a crusade. Any debate/discussion regarding Dak and I guess now Zeke is a waste of time ( at least for me). Respect your opinion but it doesn't change mind.
Pay attention coz I'm guessing this is the exact position Zeke will take before 2020 season. Trust me, these elite RBs are well aware of talks about spitting them out after their rookie deal. I said in a few threads, it's misguided to think they're going just play alone and not push back.
Melvin Gordon tells Chargers he’s not showing up without a new deal

Melvin Gordon is taking a stand.
The Chargers running back, entering the fifth year of his first-round rookie deal, has informed the Chargers that he won’t report for training camp without a new contract, and that he’ll demand a trade. Gordon’s agent, Fletcher Smith, informed ESPN of the situation.
Gordon is due to make $5.605 million this year. He has been eligible for a second contract since the completion of the 2017 season.
It’s wise for Gordon to force the issue; injury and age can quickly diminish a running back’s value. The problem becomes even more pronounced for running backs taken in round one, since the fifth-year option is available to be used against them
But surely you can see the logic right? Why do you need to pay both your QB and your TB elite money?
If you have to pay the TB elite money because we are a run first team and said TB is so vital to the offense, what does that say about the quality of your QB?
Did you see where the Chargers are currently playing? Have you seen the turnout for home games? Its not like the Chargers will suffer from backlash. This is bigger than the chargers. This is about how the league is run, who is running things, and could have massive impacts on salary caps if this trend of top players dictating to the teams isnt stopped. Bell is the only player who I am aware of that sat out an entire season and held his guns. Like I said, Id sit his arse the entire season if thats what he wants. That's great if you can win w/o him........problem is he, like Zeke, is a major part of what they do offensively. In fact, just read a stat from PPF last that showed Zeke was 2nd in the league ( behind Barkley) with the highest percentage of offensive plays.
I do not diasgree, but yet I do not hold it against a team either. The CBA ALLOWS a team that 5th year option, as well as the Franchise Tag. If players do not like those 2 things, they better fight for them to be removed in the next CBA.If I were in power in the NFLPA, I would stand the ground against the 5th year options on 1sts and tags. A team either signs their guy or he's available.
These players are in this for the money and I can't fault any for not showing up for an option or tag year. It has nothing to do with team loyalty and there's not a player on the Chargers team that will blame him.
McFadden wasnt close to the other two, and even though Murray had a HUGE season, Id argue Zeke would have had over 2k yards in 2014 with that team. I yelled at Murray all season for having a 15 yard gain that could have been 60.... which is what Zeke has shown he can do.I'm saying they're replaceable as has been shown to be the case.

unprovable? did you watch games? Just look at the GB playoff game and the whole the size of a mac truck and a 98 year old lineman gets to him and causes a fumble. Zeke scores a TD and we win that game on that play... without a doubt. He was 4th in the entire league in rushing, despite having no quarterback and despite not actually getting the ball until after week six and the failed Joseph Randle experiment.
You can waste time with un-provable conjecture if you want to, but I will deal with what is.
More times than not you need BOTH, elite QB and RB. Cowboy team of the 90s, paid Emmitt AND Troy remember? Romo best season was 2014, same year Murray led the league in rushing. If you look back, most HOF Super Bowl-winning QBs not name Brady had an elite/top 3-5 RB.
Stats will also prove that not one, not two, but three running backs had great success running in this scheme with this line.
NBA has been like that forever. Its always been an infinitely more player friendly league than the NFL. If NFL players are envious of what is happening in the NBA, then they picked the wrong sportYou think these guys arent watching what is taking place in the NBA where the players have taken control of the league?
