He'll be tested. I'll be hoping his weight gain includes some sufficient strength maintenance as well. He was a stud for Houston as a rotational DT. As a rotational 3-tech, I'm sincerely hoping he'll still be the stud that he was for Houston. There likely a reason why his teammates hated to see him depart for the Cowboys. I see him as another cog in a defense that needed more cogs for their betterment. Even more good news is that he's a dedicated worker in the weight room and on the field.

The Coppell native ended his Longhorns career and entered the NFL Draft measuring in at about 6-5 and about 296 pounds. He says he's now in the range of 320.

I think he was actually playing in college well into the 300s. Maybe over 310 at one point. He probably trimmed down for the combine, as many do.

I see a story announcing his eligibility for the draft in Nov 2017, saying he was 320. A September 2017 story has him at 310. The combine weight was clearly the outlier.

Ok I’m lost on your post. Is this the wrong thread?

Connor Williams never played for Houston — either the (college) Cougars or the (NFL) Texans. He was drafted by the Cowboys in 2018 after his junior year with the Texas Longhorns and is entering his second pro season.

More importantly, he’s an offensive G/T and has never played defense.

I’m confused ...... Connor Williams has already played for Houston?

“It was definitely a learning process,” Williams said of his rookie season with the Cowboys. “I see why the first year is definitely the toughest for a rookie, just making the transition from college to pro. But I am better for it and I am excited for the second year.”

So the experience will continue. The protein shakes will continue. The weight-room devotion will continue. And The Widening Of Connor Williams will continue, too.
Sounds great!
