A lot of times his scrambling turned into negative plays, but it was fun when it worked out. 2013 and 2014 were the years he took strides and became a smart QB. He was the best QB in the league for the second half of 2014.

Also, some clips of RAC from Witten in that clip. Maybe we will see that next year.

You see, how it works is, the team does things. Sinhle players don't bring a team anywhere. Dak was a part of them being down 18, and the rest of the team was a huge part of coming back (can't have a comeback if the defense isn't stopping the other team).

But hey, lets make idiotic comments because we hate one of the franchise's best players.
Such a moronic statement. Please explain to everyone how Dak was a part of them being 18 down in the 1st half?

One of the franchise's best players? You talking about the choker? Mr. Hollywood?

Oh, I'm sorry, was Dak not playing QB the first 3 quarters? My bad.

You can stop trolling now.
Backpeddling much? You said Dak was part of the reason the Cowboys were down 18 points in the 1st half. So name those instances where Dak was at fault?

You can't because you're just hear to personally attack while making up insults against Dak... all in order to protect your man-crush?

You have zero understanding of how football works. It is a TEAM game. They ALL play a part. You see, the 18 pt deficit is the difference in the points given up by the defense and the points scored by the offense. Dak is a huge part of the offense, yes?

You are basically saying Dak played no role in Dallas 23 pt deficit against Indianapolis last year as well.

I guess interceptions in scoring range don't matter, or not seeing Dez on a crosser for a huge gain in the first half.

Dak has zero role in the offense according to you, therefore, using your deluded logic, he had no role in the comeback.

Stop trolling, please.

And btw, you're using backpeddling wrong, and I did not attack Dak in this thread. You did the attacking...troll.

Not trying to bash on Romo but these silly comments about how he would have won a Superbowl if he got his job back in 2016 is just that silly. Some talk about if he had Zeke, or whatever else they say is absurd. Romo had some good teams and even had a running back that had now yards then Zeke in any year he has been here. Romo had a prime Dez and Witten, he has defenses that had shut outs in back to back games, he has had some very good OL, he had an explosive T.O and a very good receiving corps, and yes he also had a legendary coach as well. Romo never got past the divisional round in the playoffs and had a terrible losing record once he got there. But now all over a sudden people think he was going to over come all that and finally win in the playoffs when he couldn't even take a hit without getting hurt....... Stop with the foolishness. Romo was a good QB and had some great performances but never got it done. He will never go down as one of the top 2 QBs in Dallas history and frankly I can't put him ahead of Danny White.

His time is done and right now Dak is the QB, maybe y'all Romo cheerleaders should stop being salty and start supporting Dak because like it or not this team goes as far as Dak takes us....... And that's a fact jack

I thought this thread was going to be about how Romo was good at getting girls.

So as not to allow our resident troll to derail the thread in his direction further:

Here are some more interesting factoids or memories about Romo:

  • He was once clocked as having the NFL's fastest QB release time, releasing the ball on a pass in an average of 0.33 seconds.
  • Only three times in Cowboys history has a Dallas quarterback thrown five touchdown passes in a game. Aikman in 1999, and Romo in 2006 and 2013.
  • Unforgettable play: Romo converting a 4th-and-goal from the Commanders 10-yard line by throwing a TD to DeMarco Murray......(and how he played much of the fourth quarter with an injured spine to begin with); led Dallas to 24-23 win over Washington on the road.
  • Only quarterback in Cowboys history to throw for over 500 yards in one game.
  • Romo dodging multiple Falcons defenders to loft that TD pass to Crayton with mere seconds remaining (and no timeouts) against Atlanta in 2009, to give Dallas a 17-7 halftime lead.

Good lord some of the blocking on those olines were down right putrid. How many early snaps, or over the head snaps did Romo have to chase down? So, So bad.

Gurode and Costa were both big on the mystery snaps. I think Costa had more than a dozen one year.

Do any of the sneak snaps get tallied as fumbles/fumble recoveries on Tony?

That may be the most amazing thing about Tony - how he always seemed to manage to track down the panic snaps.

Romo never passed for 300+ yards or more than 2 TDs during the playoffs. Dak did both during his first playoff game as a rookie and brought the team back from being 18 points down halfway through the 2nd quarter to only tie the game at 31 points with only 39 seconds left in regulation.

But, yes, let's rather have the injury-plagued turnover machine who never accomplished in the playoffs what Dak did as a rookie?
Dak had this offensive line and Zeke Elliott
Give those two things to Romo and he wins in the playoffs.. Romo wasn't injured when he could've gotten his starting position back.
All Romos injuries came on hit when he was in awkward positions. Freak injuries that would take anyone out.

Its really amazing how many times during his career he made the entire DL look foolish on a single play.
Shame most of his career was spent running for his life.
I would not use the word 'most' but it is undeniably significant the number of times Romo was usually forced to scramble. The ineptness of the 2009 offensive line was particularly glaring. And the OL's effort in the postseason versus the Vikings' defensive front was particularly sad. It is still weirdly odd how anyone, who understands the sport, did not and still cannot comprehend the enormous QB pressure exerted by the Vikings that game.

lol he's the only QB I can remember having to deal with unusually high snaps, what seemed like at least once a game for a few years, with Gurode at center.

The legend of Romo grows larger the longer he's retired.
