It's this kind of "journalism" I find the most fascinating about pro football. And the people who bring the news to the fans don't understand this at all. Esch breaking down the tackle for a loss has much more substance and interest than some female reporter asking how it felt to make that tackle.

I wish Jerry would get a clue here and utilize his players and game film to offer something like this each week during the season. Maybe a 30 minute or hour show with several players breaking down seminal plays that changed the game, or momentum.

I have nothing to support this, but I would be willing to say that Ron Jaworski's breakdowns each week on ESPN were one of the more popular shows for the fans.

To the video.

Great play by Vander Esch, he diagnosed it so quickly he was able to stay square while keeping contain. He had such good position I think he would have made the cut back difficult.
He's going to be such a joy to watch in year two :flagwave:#55

As good as LVE was last year, just imagine how good he will be this year.

A full off season will make him a monster.

When Vander Esch was drafted, I said show me. Which is tantamount to saying he would fail.

He showed me. I was way off about him.

This year's show me's.

Connor Williams
FredBeard
Michael Gallup - I have high hopes for my pet cat
Randall Cobb
DeMarcus Lawrence - you want to top Von Miller's totals...
Interior Defensive Line
Dak - 4th year, game should slow down. Hit the deep ball and make the defense back up

What's the deal with the dig on female reporters?

Derek Eagleton runs the Cowboys media department. There are all kinds of ways to contact him if that is what you want. Nevermind that they have been bringing in players to talk about particular plays with Broaddus, Sham, and even "female reporters" weekly for years at this point.

Frankly, I find these to be mostly a waste of time. All he said about what happened was the obvious read of the back's release. The players are trained to go politico speak when asked specific questions about scheme or technique. Broaddus is a doofus.

Greg Cosell, Brian Baldinger, Brett Kollman, Voch Lombardi, and the like are infinitely more analytical and insightful than this tripe.

..no cowboy that I can remember impressed me the most as LVE. In the first 3 games, I was seeing Bobby Carp 2.0 Then he began to click, ...click...and click.. Its like he transformed himself to something else. Special player.

It was always pretty clear to me that this was a special talent.

At Boise he was ultra productive, incredible in space, and when he had his Pro Day that pretty much sealed the deal for me.

This was always a high upside pick and the only reason we got him where we did is because he grew up in a small town and left Boise early.

He'll be recognized as the best linebacker in football soon and playing with him is like having an extra man on defense.

Biggest question mark for me was whether or not he could handle taking on blocks. He wasn't asked to do it much at BSU and in Dallas he was asked to start using his arm length and bend to take on and defeat blocks.

Ben Bloom is easily the most underrated coach on this club. Excellent teacher.

Vandy made a great play but it was Collins that's the "unsung hero" on that play - look at the film at 2:15 where they stop the film - that RB was looking to cut it back cause he had 2 blockers ready to wipe out Vandy to the outside, but he sees Collins taking away the inside...
He's done at that point.

Of course it is.

Now let's discuss why you made that dig about female reporters.

I prefer to have journalists ask something other than, "Hey Tom Brady, how did it feel to win the Superbowl." That question transcends all major men's professional sports after wins.

Just my opinion.

I was so stoked when the Cowboys drafted him. It was hard to show excitement about a player from your favorite collegiate team being drafted because people think you're just being a homer, but, I watched this kid just beast out at Boise State. He was an animal. I will never forget his last game against Oregon in the Las Vegas Bowl. He was everywhere on the field. I'm excited for the future!

Funny, Cedric Wilson actually won the MVP of that bowl game and we have him on our roster too.
