"I can't control where I'm at". Actually, you can, by making plays when you're out on the field. I can't wait until this bum is gone. Knowing us, we'll hang onto him for another 3-4 years.
He was very specifically saying that no, he can't change his spot on the depth chart by making plays on the field, because the depth chart is predetermined. Now, whether that's true or not is a separate issue.

We know what he was very specifically saying...

I would like him to not get arrested for drug possession, not get injured, not get suspended for drug use and not put his focus on his rap game.
But that's just me. I always found him intriguing because of his size and athleticism, but his head ain't in the game.
Yeah, that training camp concussion he'd received pretty much re-vectored his trajectory, I was unaware of his 'rap' producing proclivities, till he'd found way to much time on his hands& started tweeting about it.

I think we should move on to Williams at RT and McGovern at LG if they seem ready for it.

you're preaching to the choir on that one - as the Jamaicans say "soon come"

generally, Collins, like Free before him, is an adventure every snap, usually wins but gives up 2 or 3 big plays a game, the impact is made worse by Dak's tendency to wander around the pocket

we could have had LG set, what bothers me most about 2018 is that if we'd signed Leary or Cooper to a long term deal ...

I think we have the players, be interesting to see how Colombo uses them, let's not count Collins out

The Alexander misadventure screwed with Collins the most. Set him back from where he was last year. He got better as the year went on.

If they keep Collins, I really hope they do more interesting things in our jumbo packages with our embarrassment of riches on the oline. One of those guys has got to be able to catch a 3 yard pass.

He also could be rationalizing. What's easier to believe - you're not good enough or they won't give you a chance?

Seeing as how they've kept him for 3 years already, the notion that he's not getting a chance is hard to swallow. Perhaps he's just not good enough?

Big deal. Rico is right. There is favoritism on this team and organization. It's been going on for decades.

No doubt fans of every team accuse coaches and management of that to some degree, and it happens from Pee Wee football all the way up to the pros. And likewise there are and will always be players that feel they didn't get a fair shake, and in some cases they will be right, and that also is common at every level of football.

I am a little confused by the Rico comments that were supposed swipes at Witten. It seems to me someone has to stretch their imagination quite a bit to interpret the words in the OP as doing that.

Love seeing a Dude who has yet to make a play in the NFL throw anything but humility at a first ballot HOFer he is privileged to be schooled by.

Gotta love how all the idiot TE's that have come through here have a problem with Witt.

Rico should be thanking his lucky star, He was drafted 2016 and remains on the team. Cowboys have given him the chance to learn and grow as a player and his contributions has been very little yet is still on this team. Not many will be that patient with a late rd pick going on 4 years.

Rico continues to annoy. Blocking TE is his for the taking. He just has to execute. Instead, he's whining that he's not higher up the depth chart.

The guy most directly screwed by Witten coming back is Schultz. He's the most Witten like of the 3 youngsters. Though just having Witten come back pushes Rico and the rest of the JV squad down the stack, and Rico is at the bottom of that stack.
