While we are all talking about Dak, Zeke, Amari, Byron, and Jaylon I do think we are missing one player: Tyron Smith. He is currently 11th at his position coming in at 12.2 million a year. Idiots like the Raiders pay Trent Brown 16.5 million a year, Titans with Lewan at 16 million, and Giants with Solder at 15.5 million. Tyron is going to be 29 in December. I think if he has an All-Pro year he is going to want an increase in 2020. Keep in mind he was #1 in 2014 when he signed his new deal through 2023. I'm not sure I give him 17 million a year..... thoughts? I'd tell him if he wanted more money he should have not signed that long of a deal.

Not with his bad back. He's missed and will continue to miss a few games each year.

Tryon seems like to be a honorable guy who would honor the contract that he signed years ago. I saw an interview with him and doesn’t appear appear to be a guy who be upset with his contract. Some people thought it was foolish to sign him to a long term deal (10 years I believe) but not it is a bargain if he can stay healthy.

Unfortunately the only ones worrying about Tyron's contract status are his greedy family members:(
Nods
The more people envy NFL players and other 1% I just wonder about their inevitable paradigm of:
"Who really loves me & will still be here when the glory & money ends"
I can't imagine having those thoughts
&
"I can't trust my family or anyone really, at all"
Gives me shudders

No, I'm more worried about him physically being able to continue playing.

He had injury issues with 3 different areas of his body last season.

He has not played more than 13 regular season games the past 3 seasons.

I think he.would be happy to just make it to the end of his current contract and collect all of it.

He would end up making about 110M for his career if he finishes the existing contract.

If he keeps deteriorating at the pace we have seen over the past 2 seasons he will be out of the league in a couple years.

More likely scenario is as he gets closer to end of the deal they move him to RT which isn't nearly as high demanding/paying

The all-pro comment you made in regards to next year is a very underrated statement.

In 2018 despite playing next to two rookies + having a new coach changing his stance, he was still ranked #1 in the NFL for least amount of pressures allowed per snap, allowed zero sacks, and was ranked top 5 against the run. People whine about him "detoriating" but reality was he played better in 2018 then he did in 2017 (which is damn impressive considering 2017 he made both Pro Bowl and NFL top 100)

There is a very VERY good chance next year he sneaks back into the all-pro voting ballets with him getting better play at both guard/center and him returning to his more traditional coach

As long as he is healthy I think he is top 5, potentially top 3. I'm just worried that he will want more money.

Tyron knew when he signed his contract it was "team friendly". He's not someone trying to "get paid", because he's a better person than that.

The last 3 seasons his games played are down and his holding penalties are up.

I'm not worried about his contract

His agent advised him against the deal for that exact reason (annaul value later in the contract will be "low" if he's still playing at a high level) and he literally made a statement that basically said "I don't really care I like being locked up as a franchise player"

Reality is he's already the favorite to join Joe Thomas as the two first team all-decade picks for next year (which pretty much already makes him a HOF lock at only 28 years old) and he's gonna make 8 figures a year for the rest of his career regardless if he's playing LT or RT.

There are some diva's in pro sports but Tyron is past the point of caring. The long term deal got him what he was eyeing (lots of money, hall of fame career, ring of honor possiblity).
