Randall Cobb Produces Powerful Potential

How He Got Here:Randall Cobb spent eight seasons in Green Bay, and was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2011 NFL Draft out of Kentucky. Cobb left Green Bay with a tremendous amount of respect not only from Aaron Rodgers and the Packers fan base, but league-wide. He suffered a hamstring injury in the 2018 season but says he didn’t have any problems throughout offseason workouts.

Bet You Didn’t Know: Cobb holds the second longest kick return in NFL history. He returned a kick for 108 yards his rookie year. He held the record for two years until Cordarelle Patterson broke it in 2013 with a 109-yard return.

Quotable: “Randall’s come here and done a great job. He’s such an example of what a pro is, but he’s also a really good pro. A lot of guys can be pro’s, but when you’re really good on top of it, it just lifts everybody up. That group is really good, and really explosive.” – Quarterback coach, Jon Kitna

Glad to have him. I hope we open up the route tree a little bit for him, we didn't send Beasley down field often but when we did he always seem to be open. Cobb is Shifty with some run after the catch to his game. Dak will definitely have some options when deciding where to go with the ball.

Better

Than

Beasley

Sometimes I wonder if people even watch football anymore...

You may not like him....But you sure as hell couldn't cover him. We just didn't have a QB that could get him the football...And the dude was as tough as hell. I'm not sold on Cobb replacing him. Won't shock me to see Cobb miss half the year w/ a hamstring injury like he did last year.

Uh do you watch football? Cobb is a much more complete receiver that has a better grasp of the route tree....I liked Beasley but this is a huge upgrade.....if he stays heathy

Before throwing shade you should maybe consider your audience yes?

Cole Beasley, had the best hands in the entire league for passes percentages caught. If Randall can do something after he catches the ball it'll be a phenomenal position. That's all Beasley was lacking the run after catch

Except it was like throwing to a very slow thimble.

Bryan Broaddus’ Take: "Where I also appreciate the addition of Cobb is as a bad ball catcher. Passes in his direction don’t have to be perfect and we all know with Prescott that’s not always the case."

 30 million per season.

Yes Cobb may be the better "complete receiver" but for our situation and QB, I think I'd rather have a quick get open guy like Beez.
I keep hearing how Cobb can get down the field ect but the thing is, is that a real priority in our O, I mean if not like Dak is throwing for 300 yards a game.

Not to nitpick, but you can't produce potential.

Not sure a guy who built his career catching passes from Aaron Rodgers is going to adapt easilly to Dak. That ball isn't going to be hitting him in stride much anymore.
cmon.... th eguy who hasnt dont jack in the last 3 years.. well, hes been ok. 60,66, and 38 receptions playing with , the guy man y consider to be the greatest thrower of the ball to ever play. Now hes coming to Dallas to play with a guy that , is pretty much accepted as a very avg thrower of the ball, and hes gonna tear up the league this year? Numbers are comparable to Cole. You think Cole's numbers would have been better playing in GB?
