That ignores the problem we have at our safety positions to upgrade a position that we already have at least average to slightly better than average performance.
Yes I get that. But how do you pass up Aaron Donald the best player in the NFL. Especially at a position that's needed can't win without a great defensive tackle. We can trade the rookie

I appreciate your passion. Aaron Donald is amazing. For me, it's strictly an analytical decision. That's why I evaluate what we already have first and see our pass rush is already formidable and so I shift to our underserved safety position and plug-in a top-ranked player there to make the greatest impact.

I understand your philosophy. And it's a good one. I just don't believe you can win in the NFL without a great defensive tackle. I really hope this young rookie is all he's made up to be. Yes we need a strong safety desperately.

Aaron Donald isn't the end all be all at winning in the NFL. If he was, he would have a SB win in his 5 seasons in the league. Not having him can be overcome as 5 teams have proven since he's been in the league. Our safety position is grossly underserved. You are just demonstrating how our FO has been overlooking it when you don't plug in a player there.

This is an easy one. We are a descent QB away. Patrick Mahomes is going to be a generational talent. He has easily understood the complexity of NFL secondary play unlike Dak who struggles reading NFL defenses. Mahomes has elite arm talent. He quickly identifies 1 on 1 coverage and attacks it unlike Dak. He has the ability to drive the ball into tight windows unlike Dak. Dak is the weakest link.
The question was one player (NOT A QB).

Before they got Cobb, I really liked Adam Humphries. Thought he was way more talented than Beasley and would have thrived with Dak. Travis Kelce comes to mind as a TE. On defense give me Landon Collins. He would do really well next to Woods. Knows the division too. Aaron Donald is another player I'd like but I'll go with Fletcher Cox. Helps us and hurts Philly.

Yeah, Fletcher would be my pick.

yup Donald we have the outside covered add Donald and this is the best Dline in football backup up by great LB core, that would cover up weak safety play, no time to throw lol

If we are talking long term, I'd say Myles Garrett. Only 23 years old and already has 20 career sacks; I think he is going to have a 100 sack, Von Miller type career.

Look at how much production we've gotten from D-Law over the last 2 years. Imagine getting 7 or 8 more years of production on that level.

Good answer

Everyone is picking the same names so I’ll go on a limb

Hard to argue against Aaron Donald.

To those who said Derwin James and Jamal Adams you are my kindred spirit animals. Derwin James was so good last year, he literally made 1st and 2nd team All-Pro.

Travis Kelce is a sneaky good answer too.

I would love to have Donald. However, if I had to pick one, Fletcher Cox would be my choice because he's the best player on the Eagles and he's a DT where more talent is always a good thing.

Zach Ertz.
We need a great TE, and it weakens the Eagles as well.

Not that Witten is not great. But Ertz over Witten would be best.

I get it but I'm taking Donald and I'm trading for a strong safety. The guy that Donald replacing. But that was a well thought-out response LOL

Well thought-out. I'm just not sure how this offense is going to look is it tight end friendly. I love using a tight end. Especially in the endzone
