The Jets signed him for 4yrs 52 million .

27mil guaranteed.

I don’t think he will miss the 14.5 mil tag from Pitt.

So he got the 14.5 back, plus 13 more.

Well, I'm glad you don't think he will miss it but you are in the small minority in that opinion. More importantly, the fact that he lost out on that and will never ever get it back, doesn't change. He's basically on a two year deal and for the record, his average salary is 13.1 which is less then the Offer he got from the Steelers. The Steelers offered 70 mil over 5 years for an average of 14.5 per season. So not only did he lose that 14.5 last year, he signed for less money. Spin however you want but what Bell did was stupid IMO.

Tell that to Barry Sanders.

LOL..... Sanders would tell that to you. But since you mentioned it, tell you what I will do. The next time I see a player like Barry Sanders (assuming there ever is one), I'll do just that.

My position stands. It is not always the line that makes the loing run possible. And even after the line does their job, there are circumstances which suggest the run was more the running back than the opening.

This is a team game. But there is a reason they "elect" an MVP at every turn of a season.

The Steelers has Big Ben who can launch rockets and that offense sees cover 2 zone on a daily and defenses still know to respect his arm. Connor wasn’t facing stacked boxes like Zeke does when Ben was holding out.

There are no long runs unless the Back breaks the LOS. Look at it how you want but as a former Running Back, in my day, I know the value of my OL and my receivers blocking downfield. I know the value of the Defense getting a TO or a 3 and out, securing good field position. I understand that it's a team game and it's never one man, no matter what position or who the man, in question is. Believe what you want, what I just said is the absolute truth. I won't argue the point with you. There is no need. You will either acknowledge the truth of that or not.

For the record, in the last 30 years, there have only been something like 8 RBs to win MVP. In that time, no single RB has won it more then once. What does that tell us? It says that MVP is not a very good measure of anything. It's unlikely that you even win and MVP if you are a RB and, if you do, you aren't doing it more then once according to the data.

Ezekiel Elliott's deal with 5th year option is more guaranteed than Bell who's like 4 years older and had to sit out an upaid season to even get that amount.

This is literally the biggest non-story I've ever seen. The media is acting like Elliot is some seventh-round guy getting chump change and is getting screwed by the man. He literally got over 16 million dollars cash money before he even had a single NFL practice.

Despite his deal being three years old he's top three in fully guaranteed and total guaranteed money. That's a GOOD deal.......

Is there any precedence for a player holding out with two years left on their contract?

What if Zeke gets hurt this year playing on his 3.8 million deal for 2019?

He might earn the 9 million for 2020, if Dallas doesn't waive him injured.

Look what they did to Dez.

Zeke is no fool. His new deal is going to be in the 60-70 million range, with 25-37 million guaranteed.

Zeke is not stupid. Don't try to make him stupid.

But the Steelers also extended him a contract offer for 70 mil for 5 years at 14.5 annual. That is what I am referring to. He could have taken that offer at the deadline and been better off. Bell didn't have to leave, he decided to do that on his own.

Chargers running back Melvin Gordon isn't being coy about his intent to hold out until he gets a new deal. Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott apparently is, at least for now. Per a league s...

You can't whine about 3.8 million when the reason it's 3.8 is because he got a top 3 guranteed contract with almost 2/3rds of it day 1 cash money

You can't get over 60% have your contract in cash day one and then complain later down the contract that the yearly amount isn't that much, of course it's not that much you already received the cash for the contract.........

Zekes no fool ? His current contract is almost 35 million fully guranteed with literally half of it cash money before he even had a real NFL practice.......

Your creating this fake fantasy about zeke that's not matching reality

Zeke signed a 4 yr/24.9 million contract starting in 2016.

His signing bonus was 16.3 Mill.

GTD for 24.5 Million.

24.9 is nice.

But, TGurley and LBell signed huge contracts. They are #1 and #2 in avg salary now. 4 yr 60 million range.

Zeke is # 10.

See the problem?

NOTE: 2020 base is 9 million. No signing bonus for that year.

Zeke's 5th year is currently protected from injury and is fully guranteed the 1st day of next seasons calender year. He's currently near 34 million dollars fully guranteed.......

See the problem ? What problem ? Despite his deal being 3 years old he's still top 3 in fully guranteed money (that's not a bad problem to have).

He literally cannot hold out this season. They've already paid him cash for his current contract (not only that, good cash at that).

End of this year he wants an extension/holdout then that's 100% fine. You literally cannot whine about holding out when you've already been paid top 5 cash for your current deal

I know when Cooper and Fournette were drafted. I posted it earlier as context. I also realize that salaries go up, year to year. It's in the CBA, I mean really? But look at the increases in the contract amounts and clearly, Zeke got advantage.

Honestly, there is nothing new in any of this conversation. I've been talking about it for days now and if you want to believe that it's unfair or whatever, then whatever. Believe what you want, it's not going to change anything.

If you want to compare contracts signed in different years as legit comparison, go ahead. It may make sense to you but those of us that see it's trying to add apples and oranges as just that. While you're at it why not compare linemen contracts to QB's after all you seem to think comparing other positions to RB is legit comparison.

Gurley and Bell are no longer on their rookie contracts. Do you see the problem with comparing two players not on rookie contracts to one that is?: OF COURSE they make more, THEY'RE NOT ON ROOKIE CONTRACTS but they were once. Another part of the negotiating is Elliott's REPEATED off season troubles and the next suspension will be 10 games or an entire season it's not a question of if but when that suspension will come.

I'd drop him like a hot potato. He isn't worth the headache, given his off the field stuff.

where do yo uthink that money for unemployment comes from? Im pretty sure when you look at your pay stub at deductions, you see money coming out of your check to pay for unemployment. Ive never collected a penny from that fund, nor will I, but I am paying for those that do every single month. That money isnt coming out of STATE general funds. By the way, the GOVT gets all of its money from us, the citizen taxpayer, not the other way around.

I didnt use anything as a standard, you just made it sound like all these companies have employee contracts, I think most do not. Big businesses play the game and they make business decisions that are always in their best interests. Im just saying there is nothing wrong with Avg Joe doing the exact same thing. When people lost their homes, did banks really lose money? They have mortgage insurance in addition to collecting essentially nothing but interest for the first 6 or so years of a mortgage. So the avg Joe loses everything and must start over. The banks, they relly lost nothing and got bailouts on top of it.

First off, employers pay TWICE the amount that comes out of employee checks for unemployment neither of which covers the total amount of what a person receives in unemployment. The state makes up the rest. Next if you're referring to PMI as the insurance, that is paid for by the borrower. If you choose not to pay that part of the mortgage than you get a higher interest rate which is really paying for it. Buyers can avoid the PMI by putting 20% down on the property.

On an individual basis, yes. What I pay into unemployment insurance added in with what the employer pays in would NOT pay for ME if I were to collect. It wouldnt be enough. But considering the state of california probably has 10 million or more people paying in(and will never collect a penny from it), plus all those employers, into one big fund... THAT pays for those that are colecting unemployment... no the state.

I know how PMI works, but if you lose your house, who gets paid off? the bank, not the individual who lost the house. Which wa smy point... avg joe is out, bank is just fine. Plus the bank will turn around and sell the house again. They dont actally get paid off.. but you get the point. Also, I never had PMI and I never put 20% down, nor had a higher interest rate.

First thing he should do, with Jerry's help, is reopen his lawsuit against the league for lost wages. If you don't know what I'm referring to, there's a post involving Hill and Zeke.
