Which offense do you believe will achieve winning a Super Bowl?

I believe the way Dallas is constituted right now the defense is the strength of the team. If Dallas had a high scoring offense(30 points a game) they would be the NFC favorites, if not thee league favorites.

But when I read some of the post, others believe a ball control offense would be better, you don't need to pass more. That it would protect the defense better.

I fear more for Dallas when they play a high scoring offense than when they play a ball control offense. I believe running a ball control offense will not let you keep up if the game gets away.

When two high scoring teams meet, the team with the best defense should be favorites. Is this the best way to win a championship?

Give me 30 pts/game and I guarantee I'm going to win about all of them with the D we currently have, versus playing ball control and run the risk of some late game losses on FG's.

Ball control, all the way. That's how NE does it. High scoring O's almost always flame out. Gassed D's cannot stop the other team. Prime example is ATL in the super bowl loss to NE.

Plus, if the ball control O is run right, you'll score around 30.

I agree that both can happen. Score, get the lead, pound the rock, eat time in the 2nd half, but score quick if the opportunity presents itself.

The D is getting to the point as where I don't fear they will blow a 2 score lead late in the game. Unless against a high powered offense the chance are with a lead they win. The problem is, this team never gets those type of leads. That needs to change.

You ever see a defense get worn down by second half sure to rb just eating up yards and making them work? Beautiful thing too see.
I believe Bal control can give you a better passing game, so it should start there

Both. We have the talent to beat teams on the ground & thru the air IF we have competent scheme \ coaching & above average QB play.

ie, we can make defenses honor both & punish them because they can stop neither.

If we aren't averaging around 30 pts per game, we are underachieving.

This is funny. This team loses more games when we score 30 than any other team by far im sure of it.

Your answer cannot be "both".

A high octane scoring O means long plays and quick scores. This type of O rarely rarely wins the super bowl. ATL almost did, and they're the only high octane scoring team I can remember even making it.

Our problem is that we are kicking too many FG's.

The question in this thread should have been "Quick scoring O or ball control O". NE runs mostly ball control, and they averaged 27.2 PPG.

Both super bowl teams were ball control teams.

Ball control

I don’t trust any defense in an era of football where you can’t so much as fart on anyone

First, tell me what kind of D I have. If I have NE's, I am good with ball control. Until I see what the Cowboys D really looks like, 30 a game is the only way to go.

It depeds on the opponent. Some teams have a defense that won't allow you to score as many points as you would like. Other teams are more offensively oriented and so your offense is pushed to keep up.

30 points a game if I had to choose. But I think we can have both. Should be able to score big and run out the clock in the 2nd half.

I just want to score more points than the opponents whether it be 13 or 38
And this thread is about how to go about achieving that. Ball control and stout D has always been the formula. How do you propose we do that?
