Neither player was much of a bust because neither was drafted that high. Green would be a minor bust because he was drafted high enough to at least expect solid depth from.

J.J. Wilcox - 3rd round, 80th overall
Chaz Green - 3rd round, 91st overall
I’ll stick with what I said on Green, but I stand corrected on Wilcox. I was thinking he was a 5th round pick. A third round pick would be expected to at least be solid depth with a chance to be a starter. I guess Wilcox did start though, albeit never a high qualty one, plus he didn’t last in Dallas, so he would at least be a minor bust as well.

oh dont tell me, i never knew this. do , *big gulp* injuries happen? and if they are busts, why are they on other teams? and if we only get rid of busts, why do some win SB rings?

Absolutely not. A third rounder who has started the majority of his career is not a bust.
He started just 38 of 58 games as a Cowboy, and mostly because we refused to value the safety position.

If bust is too strong of a word for you, how about disappointment?

Once you get past the second round, isn't "solid contributor" considered the appropriate expectation?

I had little to no knowledge of him prior to us drafting him. So, maybe my level of expectations weren't very high to begin with so it doesn't feel like a "bust" to me. Maybe just different perspectives on this player.

I remember the good old days around here where he would be carted off the first day of camp with cramps every year and people would defend him.
And then you woke up?

Chaz had few defenders here. But never let the truth get in the way of a good "I was too smart for that" jest.
