Conner Williams is a controversial player around here.
Too many fans fell in love with him at the draft and pointed their fingers at everyone else for why he needed to lose his job to a street free agent. When you mention it they jump on you. Just watch.

That said I think its too early to know what we have in McGovern. I just hope our FO and Coaching staff lets the best players in each position play and stop worrying about who was drafted where ect.

McGovern is coming into the league with NFL strength. Williams did not do this last year. If Williams added weight and strength how we are hearing he might be the better option.

Maybe, but he needs to be better than Williams this year if he intends to start.

To answer the question though (about the Dallas CM), I do think he will be better as a rookie than Williams was as a rookie.

However, the real question is: Will CM be better as a rookie than CW will be this year? That, I’m not sure.

Williams has terrific movement skills but his anchor may never be quite as good as McGovern’s (who may never quite have Williams movement skills).

I think that unless CM is a good bit better than CW... Williams will start and McGovern watches for a year.

If CM wins the LG position over the second year guy, then we have really, really hit on the rookie.

I think so......this kid has starter written all over him

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Connor McGovern made a big jump in 2018! <a href="https://t.co/gva3ypqGHU">pic.twitter.com/gva3ypqGHU</a></p>&mdash; PFF (@PFF) <a href="">July 23, 2019</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

sure a muther FN superhero in shorts and cleats..right.. written all over him.. Cwill is very athletic and driven young player going into his second season , he was a FLIPPIN rookie playing next to a backup center and needed sometime to get used to the nfl..hes working hard to get better but the OTHER Internet experts want to hang bad season on him and I say that was overblown..McGovern hasn't playing in live game with defense game planning to get through him to dak and zeke..so way and I mean way early assessment especially to a lot that have said it was a bad pick given we had a lot more needs at that stage of the draft IE Safety or TE..Cwill will grow and will be better and he didnt suk last year like many think..Xavier was bit better in some areas but Cwill better in other..asking every pick to step in as a rookie and just be an all pro is ridiculous. players develop they can get better and hes guy with an edge and I like him..maybe he takes over RT someday after LC leaves and eventually McGovern is a future RG but this year im betting Cwill will be much better especially if Tfred is healthy playing next to him..thats important..

The interesting thing about Williams is prior to his rookie season, he'd never played G.

There he is folks. The Connor Williams excuse club has arrived.
When you need to position others criticism of Connor as expecting him to be an All Pro then you failed.
I'll give you credit for such passion though.

I think
- McGovern has excellent strength and good technique
- Williams had excellent technique and average strength

McGovern probably would have outperformed Williams last year. But I think Williams is both stronger and has better technique putting him well ahead coming into this season.

Haha...
Notice you once again went back to needing to assume other positions on Connor Williams instead of dealing with the facts. Go back up and read my post. I gave no opinion on anyone starting. I only stated facts that Connor Williams was replaced by a street free agent. And I said I hope the FO and Coaches make decisions on who the best players are regardless of where they were drafted ect.

You are so sensitive and defensive of Connor Williams. You need to make up others positions on him and use that to attack what you perceive as a different opinion. It reeks of insecurity my friend.

I have no idea what the "shizzle" and "CWills" part of your rant even means.

Sorry if I embarrassed you but you jumped in here and went off on a rant that required you to make up other peoples side of an issue. Its kind of weird.

The interesting thing about Williams is prior to his rookie season, he'd never played G.
many tackles or other positions along the line get ,oved when they move to the NFL and yes he was mostly a Tackle in college but he did sub at center and G in college when they and injuries..its not shock to see this its not a Cowboys FO thing like most point to happens pretty regularly from college to NFL especially in the Oline..Edelmen never played WR either but Sb MVp?was he good right away? did he develop? yes its the second choice..Jeez the instant now society has grown old...let the FO/coaches/scouts figure this out and like I said first its TC week and games arent being played we will truly see Cwill and the others compete and let the chips fall where they may, THE OP is ridiculous already calling McGivern better, its laughable..... hmm

Not really.

What is my opinion?

I never gave an opinion. Thats why you are acting so bizarre. You launch into a rant and tell me what my opinions are when you don't even know what they are. I never stated any opinions. Since you don't really know what to do with these facts you need to make up what you think my opinions could be so you feel you can argue against them.

What was the TWills thing about? What does this even mean?
