3) Can Dak Raise His Game To Another Level?

Football season is finally approaching. After a long offseason, the Cowboys are set to depart for training camp on July 25. During this final month before they begin practice in Oxnard, Calif., the staff of DallasCowboys.com is going to preview the 20 biggest questions facing the Cowboys heading into 2019.)

FRISCO, Texas – Following the final minicamp practice of the offseason, Dak Prescott wore a Stetson hat at his locker as he brushed off questions about long-term contract discussions.

“It happens when it happens,” he said. “I’ve got a cowboy hat on, so I’m a Cowboy. Let’s say that.”

Indeed, it’s really just a matter of ‘when’ Prescott and the Cowboys reach an agreement on a lucrative extension. The front office has made clear he’s the franchise quarterback now and in the future. Only one NFL starter (Tom Brady) has won more games than Prescott since he joined the Cowboys as a fourth-round pick in 2016.

Don't look now, but Dak Prescott is already good enough to match strides during a game, with the best in the NFL.

His support is good enough now, that we shall see true value during this season. He may actually get some real help along the way, now.

It's up to the individual to value it as much or as little as they choose, but it has some level of value that there was a consensus of opinion that Prescott looked improved during offseason work. Several have said that it's the best they have seen him look since he's been here, and that's a positive indicator.

While I'm never one to agree with Mickey Spagnola, the numbers he provided are accurate, and Prescott did significantly improve his production after the Cowboys acquired an actual number one receiver. They followed that up with signing a versatile veteran receiver in Randall Cobb. That bodes well for overall improvement for both Prescott and the offense as a whole.

Are actually suggesting that he hasn't had any support up until this point?

If you just want an argument...go ahead and start it. You stupid? Or just agenda focused?

NO......he's the same since high-school and at 26 he's not becoming Franchise QB as he simply doesn't have the God given Talent base!

P.S. One of the worst passers in the league if not the worse!

Getting a backup offensive tackle doesn't hurt, nor does having Smith suit up for games. Eight sacks in a single game does tend to distort the picture as to talent.

Although I’m not a Dak fan and I think he needs to improve this is a very stupid hot take. Have you never watched Lamar Jackson throw a ball?

Another Dud QB in Lamar and trust me them Ravens ain't gonna be paying him 30+ million when its contract time if he's still with them.
I have seen enough of football to verify a DUD QB when I see one and without any malice I can confirm that Dak is DUD!
Let's hope the Jones clan doesn't bury our Star by giving this inept young man a massive new deal.
He has done enough damage already........

Yep

No doubt Prescott's effectiveness and production increases with Elite surrounding talent. I’d agree the acquisition of Cobb and return of Witten should enhance the passing offense. Let’s just hope Elliott is in the lineup or his absence could negate these additions.

I’ve been a Dak critic but he’s the best Dud we’ve had.

If he has the supporting cast we can contend at a certain level with him. There’s something to be said for that despite his obvious weaknesses.

I think with a Mahomes we become a more serious SB contender. But that’s not an option at this time. Our organization appears All In . We’ll see how far Dak can take us.

Dak brings some intangible assets and has his moments. If we can surround him with enough pieces and continue shoring up this defense it could be enough.

You and your hate agenda shows your hate in just about every post.
You are one of these that will never believe the proof in front of you. Too hard headed to see the truth.

And a QB does not have to have the natural given talent to take his team to a SB. He has to be good enough with his surrounding team. And at the least, that is what Dat seems to be.
I am not sold on him being a franchise QB, yet, but I can see that he can be.

We need an agenda zone for you and others.

If the OTA's and the final minicamp are any indication of what Dak will do when TC and the regular season come along, it looks encouraging. Actually, though, a lot depends upon how quickly Dak delivers the ball and maintains his poise in live action, despite the pressure of an intense pass rush.

Reality time....you cannot afford to surrond Dak with enough pieces if you give him a 30 million $$$$ a year contract!
Its the NFL it has a CAP either accept it or not bud but in the end reality will prevail!

Nope... he's about as close to his ceiling as he can get. He has some admirable qualities, but none of them equate to being good enough to take the team (or himself) to the next level.

Lamar Jackson is without question the worst passer in the NFL, there's no denying that.
