You seriously don't think Saquan Barkley is a top 6 RB?

I get it with Peterson at this stage in his career. I don't even think he's top 12.
But Barkley?
Hey it's an opinion
I was ranking them according to their team, not just them. I think NO, NE and LAR are a lot more dangerous with their RB's than the NYG with Barkley. Isolate him from the team and I have him #1.

1. Saquon. Is Saquon.
2. Kamara. Is Kamara.
3. Gurley. Is Gurley. This is assuming his knee is about 90%; he's still good, but his chronic injuries may start costing him a step.
4. Aaron Jones. Has consistently been super-efficient in committees in GB. One of those players who is just begging to get more touches and break out.
5. Kenyan Drake. Another committee-back hero who really needs more touches.
6. Sony Michel. Great inside power runner. Not fast or explosive like all the guys above him, but he just pinballs around and picks up yardage.
7. Bell. Took a year off, reportedly out of shape, super-patient style is going to be hard to pull off behind a not-super-patient OL. I'm really bearish.
8. Adrian Peterson. 1,000 yards rushing at 33 was impressive, but Father Time and 2,800 career carries aren't forgiving.
9. Kerryon Johnson. Was lighting it up in Detroit before his injury, looks like a real player. Tough to rank him above so many proven players though.
10. Dalvin Cook. Sort of a poor man's Saquon, he's either going to get 30 yards or do nothing.

I left Tarik Cohen off this list because he's more receiver than runner, and Derrius Guice because he's a total unknown. We've never seen him take an NFL snap, and while he was a stud at LSU, who knows how he'll look after his ACL surgery.

Overall, it's actually a pretty strong list of running backs we're facing this year. LVE and Jaylon have some work to do.

DWare- it's interesting you have Jones and Johnson so far apart on your rankings despite them seeming so similiar.

Very efficient
Both in RBBC
Both got injured last season
Both at the very beginning of their careers

Oh interesting. So you're ranking their anticipated output against the Cowboys, not the talent of the running back. Is that correct?

Kinda, I am taking into consideration the entire team. Barkley might get some yards and some scores but he's not likely to beat us because of the overall team.

Michel and Kamara have a lot more around them in support and the Cowboys should struggle against those two teams more.

The first thing I did after that last game was discount that as an aberration, that was out of character for the 5th ranked run D in the league. The Cowboys gave up an average of 94 per game and triple that in LA. Do posters think the run D just fell apart and will continue that in 2019?

I do not fear RB's against this D but QB's and receivers? Yep, that's the Achilles. They ranked 16th in sacks with 39 and 26th in INT's with 9, the Bears had 27. They also gave up 68% completion rate, good for 29th. I ain't skeert of no running backs.....unless they catch the ball a lot.

That's a fair criticism.

I'd say the difference is in sample size. Jones averaged 5.5 YPC as a rookie, then went straight back and did again as a sophomore. He did do it under pretty good circumstances, but 5.5 YPC in back to back years, are you kidding me. The eyeball test tells you it's no fluke either, he looks like he is shot out of a cannon every time he takes a handoff. Kerryon Johnson was averaging over 5 YPC as well, but he only showed it for half a season, where Jones has done it every time he's been called on for 2 years.

You guys seriously going leave McCaffery out of the top 10?
He's about as similar as you can get to Kamara, and actually had better stats.
We don't play Carolina. This list is the top 10 RB's that the Cowboys will face this year.
