Kids a world record holder.
Pretty cool to see him doing well now. Everyone thought he’d be just a combine legend

Jones has risen to another level. If he can take that next step he is elite. He has to find a way to see/know where the ball is. There are so many balls that he has hit that if he just had some anticipation skills either by knowing the route and ball projection or by turning his head at the right time and angle, he would have a lot more picks

This.

He’s top tier. But if he gets better adjusting to the ball in the air and makes a few picks, he will become an elite corner.

Thats his problem hes not a football player he is an all world athlete. Those instincts he just doesnt have it, hence him being an avg safety at best

Well deserved, he had a great season. Unfortunately for him, he isn't a "ball hawk" and can't be counted on for any game-changing turnovers. He's likely a cap casualty at the end of the 2019 season.

He makes game-changing plays, which is what matters.

I never understood moving him to S.

Athletically I got it. Depth chart wise too it made sense to get all your talented players on the field.

Brandon Carr wa$n't going anywhere, along with disappointment/constant redemption Claiborne. Scandrick manned the slot.
Having Jones at a single high free safety spot with his athletics made sense early on. They should of just let Claiborne walk once his 4 years was up and then thrown Jones back at corner.

Rod Marinelli says hi!

Probably one of the more overrated coaches we have had. He’s decent at this point in his career but people acted like he was some sort of super stud DC. He made some really questionable decisions in his time here.

I’m convinced it was a premeditated front office move. This franchise had been pining away for a Darren Woodson type safety and they tried to fit a square peg through a round hole.

Jones played both safety and corner at UConn so they had some basis in trying it but should have recognized early on he was never adept at that role (safety). Jones is probably in the top 97-98th percentile in terms of athleticism in the NFL but that ability is negated if you’re always a tick or two slow in processing the play and reacting.

At corner he can man up on guys and simply run with them and incorporate technique. You still see his lack of instincts manifest itself in lack of picks (i.e jumping routes and making plays on the ball). That should improve with time and confidence.

Again, he's a fine CB, but he doesn't cure the cancer that has plagued us for almost a decade... we are average at best at turnovers, especially from the CB position.
He cures the cancer that has plagued us since beginning of this decade, bad CB play.

And he has created two turnovers that h deflected to Heath that don't show up on his stats, but are turnover creation plays
