If you can win with him. Then it’s enough. There are teams which have won Super Bowls with much less than Elite QB’s.

We’d all prefer an Elite and prolific passer. But that’s not the cards we were dealt anymore than an Elite and proven HC.

Name me a Superbowl winner who has won the big game and had a QB worse than Dak?
I consider Dilfer (Ravens) to be a better passer than Dak.

And in the three years all three players have been in the league, Prescott has done that. If these GM's are holding on to the fact that they all passed on him, their motivations are driven by ego, not reality.

If that was the case, they wouldn’t have ranked Brady or Wilson as high as they did. This isn’t about protecting ego… the poll is anonymous. It’s just how the league views him.

Imagine how bad it would be if those same NFL executives were to tell us that development of all NFL player stopped after 3 years. That's it, it doesn't get any better. Elevating your game is just not possible after that third year.
Now had they said that I'd really be bummed out:(
Can you get more experience? Yes. Can you learn the pro game in greater depth and detial? Absolutely. Can you learn to manage games better? Certainly.

Can you suddenly learn to throw a football accurately, on time, with greater velocity? No, not so much.

I said there have been teams with less than Elite QB’s win the SB. And I stand by that.

You’re presenting a purely subjective scenario which can’t be determined who’s a “ worse QB than Dak”.

The fact is having a prolific passer isn’t totally necessary to win the SB. There’s several out there. I’ll let you and others figure it out. I’m not going to get into those silly petty discussions .

Probably a mix of both, but with a generous amount of ego. Most of them probably spend as much of their time defending their own opinions about players for a living as they spend forming those opinions in the first place.

Of course not, It’s not “suddenly” when all QB’s work on their technique and their throws all year long for years upon years.

It’s funny how people down play Dak because “talent” around him like that same logic doesn’t apply to 95% of starting QB’s. There’s only like 3 or 4 QB’s that can win without much talent. Everyone else needs talent around them so let’s stop acting like Dak is the only one.
True but it’s what you do with that talent which often separates the great ones. Aikman for example needed Elite talent around him. And when he had it took home 3 rings.

How much more talent around Dak do we need?

Yep

Ive been a critic of Daks passing ability but I’m not sure he could still be enough with all of the right supporting cast. We’ve been pretty close twice to breaking thru with Dink and Dunkin.

The more chances we get I like our odds. The window will close pretty fast once we begin paying everyone. I think there’s hope until there’s not.

I'm not sure anyone realizes this simple fact, but most NFL executives are complete morons when it comes to assessing talent on the field. They are hired because 1 of 2 reasons:

1) They are a good ole' boy that played in the NFL or has some sort of close connection to someone with hiring power in the NFL.

2) They are great at running a business from a financial and marketing aspect.

Just for consumption since brought up a lot. Not sure if it affects tier rank

If anyone could reliably correlate the “tier level” (lol!) of NFL QBs with the probability of their leading their respective teams to victory, that person would become very rich, very quickly.

Well, they have him at about 14th.
That is almost exactly where the vast majority of people have him
Some lower, some higher...with the highers usually us Cowboy fans

Actually most on here have him lower as Cowboys fans. So it seems.

i think with a jimmy Johnson type coach I think the cowboys could be in contention for a superbowl with the current group not so much dak is what he is which is with good coaching and the current talent they have a chance to compete for a championship but he will never carry a team like the top qb's in this league

The above article is absolutely correct!!!!!

“I just think when it comes down to it, his accuracy is going to limit him because those three to four throws a game you miss, they get you in the long run,” an offensive coordinator said. Prescott, who had 13 touchdown passes against three interceptions when Cooper was on the field in 2018, polled almost exactly the same this summer compared to last, with about one-third of voters placing him in the second tier. “I think he is the classic 3, a high 3, where he really needs people around him,” a GM said. “When they got the receiver, he was better. When the runner is rolling, he is better. Play-action is very important for him.”

Prescott is clearly a “win with” quarterback for the Cowboys. Dallas can win with him starting. But they don’t win because of him. And Dallas will soon be paying him a ton of money.
Here’s another quote from the article:

“When they got Amari Cooper, he really ascended,” said the voter, a veteran personnel evaluator. “Throw in the O-line, the running back, they add (Randall) Cobb in the slot, and I think (Tier) 2 could be the low number. I could see them winning 12 or 13 games and having people come back next year saying, ‘Oh, maybe he is closer to a 1.’”
