Funny as hell that so many people always say... well what would Bellichek do? There is no doubt Bill wouldnt cave in, and when Jerry appears to be taking that stance, he will get called incompetent from the paenut gallery. If he signs him, hell get blasted in here for ruining our cap situation moving forward. If he makes Zeke sit, hell be blasted for not signing the player we need to make our offense go.. Doesnt matter what he does, hell get criticized for it.

Many on this board wanted the team to draft Ramsey with our pick. Is he holding out demanding a new contract? I’ll await your answer. By the way, I’ve always been very happy with the Zeke pick. I’m just not happy with a holdout with two years to go. Is ANY other member (first round pick) of that draft class holding out? I don’t think so.

RBs are still very important but the problem is that the NFL has gotten too pass happy, and that's why you see a bunch of flashy teams not make it to the championship game. The Pats never invest in RBs but Brady manufactures runs with pass out of the backfield, and when the Eagles went to the SB it was behind a great defense and a powerful running game. I think that Zeke, Gurley, DJ, Barkley and possibly Guise are going to lead the resurgence of the RBs.
Blount, 1st rounders for Michel and Maroney, 2nd for Vereen, 3rd for Ridley, plus they're always picking up RB's. I'd say the opposite is true, the Pats always invest in RB's, but they're smart enough not to pay them a ton.

Neither did the Rams obviously. The challenge is that the RB position isn’t as valuable as it’s once was. I love Zeke but breaking the bank for him puts you in salary cap he’ll. He will break down in no time and we will have tons of dead money. Find a way to pay him for his production and let him bet on himself. If he is a freak and last a long time then he gets the whole contract. But he wears out this year and you can afford a replacement.

Why do you love zeke ? He is bad news

In my opinion the RB position wasn't much more valuable in the past either. It's just good to have a great player like at any other position that is not QB.

The 70s Steelers didn't win on the back of Franco Harris. They had a monster D and a HOF QB throwing to two HOF WRs.

The 49ers had some of the best teams in history but never a great back. They had some good backs, but that's not how they won.

Ask Earl Campbell, Eric Dickerson, O.J. Simpson, and Barry Sanders how many championships they won. Walter Peyton finally got his title yet it had nothing to do with him. I think we all know Beast mode is not why Seattle won. That team would have won with anyone back there.

Besides the 90s Cowboys I can't come up with much more where a RB made the difference. An argument could be made for the '96, '97 Broncos. How far back are we going to where they were more valuable? The 60s?

I want to keep Zeke, assuming a fair contract, but J.J. is 100% correct. You do not need a rushing champ to win the Super Bowl. Does it help? Sure, but I don’t think New England has ever had a rushing champ. Few Super Bowl winners have.

NE has Tom Brady and Bill.
Where do you think our offense is going with Dak and JG........

If we had a Mahomes or any Stud QB back there heck man call Zeke's bluff and trade him if you have to.
The problem here with Zeke's hold out is that he's pretty much all the offense heck Dak even needs that PA pass to him to even complete a 5 yard pass.
Hence Jerry's dilemma.....Due to the lack of QB play Zeke will get paid prior to kick-off and let old Jerry sell his tales of SB glory.....

I agree for the most part. I know you hate dak and I dont think you're wrong tbh. I like dak and think hes solid. I'm grouped in the bs romo lover hates dak crowd. But I dont care whoever made that category on here and backs it up has proved they no jack about football. Tbh honest I thought dak would be signed by now. You've been right.

Oh aikman is a goat and won sbs. Sorry he was a bus driver like dak. Jury's still out on dak but aikman was no romo. White was better than aikman to imo

Hate none here for Dak bud just the facts of his inadequacies at the position. Please never mention Hate as its simply not a part of my life force.
Aikman was 10 times the QB Dak is as first and foremost he was ACCURATE to a dime a must for any Franchise QB.
3 Superbowl's are well 3 Superbowl's HOF jeez how do you even dare to compare Dak to Aikman esp the bus driver comment man jeez!!!!
In the end and this no one can deny if we had a quality type QB no way would Zeke or his agent even consider holding out at this stage of Zeke's contract.
Dak Prescott if re-signed to a mega deal will go down in Cowboy history as the Cowboy Anti-Christ bringing more years of misery to the Star we bleed blue for daily!

I can't really hold the option year against him, but the fact that he still has 1 year remaining on his original rookie deal is enough.

He drafted Elliot over Jalen Ramsay but doesn't think you need a rushing champ

NFL Network said that there's only been four times that a league leading running back has won the Super Bowl. Three of the four were won by Emmit Smith. Jerry only knows how to win a Super Bowl with a leading running back. I'm pretty sure he will sign Zeke.

Jerry will sign Zeke regardless if he knows how to tie his own shoes.

I don't see this as a confusing issue for the team. Not certain why so many thinbk this is going to be anything but Zeke getting a raise.
