Elliott is a great RB,but RBs can be found all the time. Hype Elliott up and then make another Blockbuster Type Trade like Hershel Walker if possible. Trade Elliott to some dump like Baltimore or some abyss like Buffalo...Don't sweat it and trade for draft picks. Almost certain we could get atleast 2 1st round picks and possible other picks for him....The Hershel Walker trade got us a Super Bowl Dynasty team...If anything like that can be had GO FOR IT!!!
Nothing like that trade will ever happen again except maybe in Madden. Can you make trades in Madden?

It's the rational expectation of getting fired that makes them *rationally* discount the future prospects for the team. If you're gone, that future is not your problem. Your problem is staying employed this year. And planning an exit strategy.

People don't get smarter when they're afraid, they get stupider. If the job is busting rocks with a hammer, fear can get you more busted rocks. If the job is thinking and planning, you get worse plans.
It's the fear of losing your job that makes you want to perform to the best of your ability.
No fear of losing your job makes you do it half assed. That's how it's been forever.

Fear makes you stupid. That won't be to the best of your abilities unless your job doesn't use your brain. It also has you planning exit strategies.

Where your job is moving your ***, fear works.
Where your job is using your brain, fear hurts.

I for one am about done with his Antics though he needs to grow up does he deserve to be paid? No Doubt and there's no doubt that Jerry will but he's not going to get Todd Gurley money not with his off-field issues. I believe Jerry is finally smartened up after all the 5 year 50 million dollar deals I know I say that with a smile on my face

Totally the opposite . Fear is the great motivator,

Dallas would probably be offered a second team tight end...and a 5th rounder...by recent trades.

If it's me, I'm trading him for 5 first round picks. One each from all of the 5 worst teams this year. That way, I get all first of the first picks in the draft next year. And then I'm trading each one of those picks for 2 more first round picks each. In three years I'll have the whole first round.

Is this how make believe works?

Just keep trading for more each year but don't use them on players. Just keep accumulating picks. In 50 years they could own all the picks in the draft.

I can't believe that when the Herschel Walker trade was made, there were Cowboys fans and media critics who actually thought it was a BAD trade for the COWBOYS!

Because on the surface it wasn't. Picture the Browns when they were terrible and pretend Elliott was on the team. Then trade him and 4 draft picks to a team for 5 backups and a first rounder. The conditional picks were always mentioned as an after thought. No one was thinking, yeah, that's going to be great 3-4 years from now. They just see the Cowboys going 1-15.

Yep. Trade him to KC for a Walker-type boatload (since RBs can be found all the time). And get them to throw in Mahomes. If possible.

I think some of you guys are on to something.
KC doesnt need a running back. Why do people keep saying this?

Like I said Bell’s hold out cost him a lot of money that he’ll never get back. Go look at what he originally asked for he’s not getting close to that.
And like I said, that wasn't the point. I fully understood he lost money last season the 1st time you posted it.
The tag bends people and I would understand.

You commented that he held out due to principle. No player throws away $14M due to principle especially a greedy player who's looking to be the highest paid at their position. He wanted $17M per season and didn't come close to that. He's behind Gurley. He and his agent miscalculated thinking he could get all that money that he was losing back in his new contract. Not only did Bell cost himself a lot of money but possibly a HOF induction. He lost a years worth of numbers and went from a good team that had a HOF QB, WR and solid OL and now he's stuck with a young QB on a team that went 4-12 last season. History has shown that great backs don't fair very well once they leave their original team. We'll see what kind of career Bell has with the Jets.

It was part of it, it's not really debatable, he said so himself. Obviously money is as well. You can keep repeating the same thing, I'm not arguing he lost money. He may not do great in NY, but he said he was happy for the change and he likes the scheme. The Steelers lost a couple elite players, they're not the team they once were.
I predict a trend of hold outs, we'll see what happens.

I mean... I don't think it would happen, but I can't help but believe the Raiders wouldn't fall for something like this and give ups draft picks/Jackson to get Zeke and re-sign him for what he wants especially with them moving to Vegas and needing more star power along side A Brown to bring in ticket sales.

Bell can say what he wants most of what he’s saying has been after the fact. He said Ben was above everyone. Sounded like he wanted out of Pittsburgh. The Steelers may not be all that great but Bell was having a great career there. Like I said we’ll see how his career goes with the hapless Jets.
