I was too young to remember him as a player, but when I was a teenager, he was on Inside the NFL with Len Dawson on HBO. Loved that era of the show.

God speed, sir. Thank you for your contribution to the greatest sport in the world.

That's too bad,I recall how the announcers would just about always include his first name while calling plays on T.V. , like they didn't want to disrespect him or something.
