I mean... Cole Beasley was signed to a 4 year 29 million deal early in free agency. Cobb was a one year, 5 million afterthought a week later. Apparently when the reason why for this becomes apparent once the season starts, it’s going to be a cold splash of water to the face for a lot of people... when it really shouldn’t have been.

If he can’t get separation then he’s useless because we all know damn well Dak ain’t goin throw his open. Dak don’t deal with possession receivers. Cobb better get right before the season start.

Yo what a bunch of loser fans on this board overreacting to typical summer camp warrior play.
One of the dumbest threads this summer so far and there’s been a lot of them. It’s been what, a week of practice?

Man, I can’t believe Cobb’s a total washed up bum now......

This news is most unwelcome..
Lmaoooo dude you haven’t even seen him play! That’s so crazy people will just believe anything they see on the internet lol, should I send you tweets about his good performances in OTA’s and TC? Are you gonna feel like he’s an all-pro after that?

Not tryna dump on you but people gotta stop reacting to things without much digging

This stat is misused.

That stat is due to all the guys that are barely good enough to be in the league and might stick to a team for one year or so before the next draft comes along. It's all the 6/7 round picks and undrafted free agents. Two to 3 years is not the average for guys who are talented.

The stat shows the turnover at the bottom of rosters, not that people have short careers because of health or aging.
Didn't know facts could be misused

There is evidence that he is kind of washed up. Just like Allen Hurns seemed last year, Hurns has had injuries but he was 26 years old last season. At the very least I'd think it's safe to say we can't really use him on the outside. I think there's a ton of guys that can fit that role in the slot though out there and there's still a good chance that Cobb will be just fine.

Makes sense considering the average amount a player lasts in the NFL is 2 or 3 years

Release him get our comp pick back. Austin is better right now anyway.
The same Austin that had 8 receptions in 9 games last season or the Austin that had 1 reception for minus 2 yards in the Rams game when he was supposed to cover for Beasley's bad ankle. He sucked with the Rams and he sucked with Dallas last year. At some point you have to figure he may just suck!

I would put money on his struggles being more to do with scheme and the routes From the 90’s Garrett insists on running. My memory of Cobb in GB was of him catching the ball on the run in stride on routes designed to get YAC. If he is being asked to run curls and comebacks, I could see him never being very effective and it’s really no fault of his own. He needs slants, crossing routes, and misdirection to get him in space and let him do his thing.

He came from one of the best passing offenses in the league and if they let him walk, why would anyone assume he would be like the old Cobb?

It's too early to call this a mistake but were teams, in this pass happy NFL, lining up to sign him?

They do not need him to be what he was with GB because of Cooper and what Gallup have shown and there are some young WR's that are interesting. If he struggles, he might not even make the final roster, it's happened before. The FA isn't as good as anticipated and a young WR is better than anticipated.
