Loyalty and devotion can be expressed differently. Just because they don't plod along like obedient sheep doesn't mean they are not devoted or loyal. Everybody has their view on what's best. It is what it is.

You left out the adjectives. Fanatics are not defined by simply loyalty or devotion. They are described as unwavering and uncritical for a reason.

They have like 5 playoff wins in two decades. They are a bottom quarter of the league in terms of playoff success for two decades.

Think about that. One of the supposed greatest franchises in the NFL has been one of the worst post season teams over the last two decades.

But hey! One of those playoffs wins came last year so we got that!

As if what happened 20 years ago has any bearing on the team today. You are basically repeating the X years since playoffs/playoff win/NFCCG/SB sliding scale media narrative.

You're right we are coming off a NFCE championship and a playoff win. that actually does have bearing on how the team will perform this season.

If you want to cry over spilled milk have fun with that.

I know what you're saying. The best way I can get my point across is using a subject that's not permitted here. So let's just leave it where it is.

And those people do not meet the definition of fanatic. All fanatics have zeal, not all that are zealous are fanatics.

You call it a low, I call it a high. This franchise doesn't deserve the benefit of the doubt. Imo the fanbase has been too kind to them. We should be critical about every minute detail until they prove they can win when it matters.
Not taking stock into a scrimmage is giving them the benefit of the doubt? If they went out there and looked great you would tell us “oh it’s just scrimmage”....you guys are at the point y’all are just looking for stuff to complain about. What exactly was proven today? That they suck? This current team doesn’t deserve the crap that Jerry does. This team has only been around 2 or 3 years and coming off a playoff trip. Now don’t get me wrong, the bar should be a Super Bowl this year but they don’t deserve to have their scrimmage games scrutinized that’s low down.

It’s what has happened for two decades up until now. This franchise has been one of the worst in the NFL when it comes to the post season. They are actually one of like 4-5 teams that hasn’t made even a conference champ game in the last 20 years joining illustrious teams like the Lions and Commanders.

And in this division winning a division title actually hasn’t really been a spring board into the next season.

False. They weren’t any good. Everyone was injured.

Robinson got healthy to play that winter and Popovich told him to continue rehabbing. That is why people said they tanked. I'm sure that Popovich would tell you that he was looking out for his long term health and not tanking.

The better example is the 76ers who traded off their good players and played rookies for 4 years straight to draft Embiid, Simmons, Okafor, and Fultz. They just made the ECF and took the eventual champs to 7 games.

Eh.... Yea. I'm going to have to go ahead and sorta disagree with you there.

In the 1990s under Coach Pop the Spurs made it to the playoffs every year except 1997.
Part of the Spurs legacy is their consistency for making the playoffs long before the 00's.

1997 was an outlier in which clearly there was tank, and Pop's is the type psycho mastermind that would do that on purpose.

I don’t understand what 20 years ago has to do with this team. So they are paying for the sins of Quincy Carter, Troy Hambricks and Dexter Coakley?

76ers lost in the second round. Raptors beat the bucks in the ECF, but I see your point.

Reed was the greatest safety to ever play the game. No question.

Ronnie Lott is a one-dimensional gimmick compared to him.

what?!

lott played corner, free safety, and strong safety. he led the league in interceptions twice, finishing his career with 63 interceptions.

reed? he had 64. in a pass-happy era.

not saying who was better -- just that lott was a hell of a player, and not just a "one-dimensional gimmick."

This team was up and ready to go back in 2006 and 2007 and nothing really came of it. Had a franchise QB and got 2 playoff wins out of him. Some of us it just takes longer to convince that things are different. Maybe if the same things didn't always happen in the playoffs that would be a start.

Not 20 years ago.

What has transpired over the last twenty years.

This franchise is one of like 4-5 teams that hasn’t made a conference title game over the last two decades. Not twenty years ago. Every single year for the last 20.

The point being this franchise has given its fans a lot of reasons to doubt them.

I get it. You want something to ***** about. I still fail to see what you parroting that media narrative has to do with how this team will perform.
