And that's exactly why Belichick doesn't play the game with players. If he'd tagged Flowers and had him hold out, not only is that a distraction to his team, it undermines who is in charge.

The Cowboys have the rep of paying the stars, why shouldn't one hold out when they have the history of blinking even under the threat of a holdout? And just my opinion, but Booger is hot hot for the triplets, I believe he thinks that was what really delivered those rings. And it's not helping with almost every analyst saying they can't win without Elliott.

But this situation is different because he has learned from some of those mistakes and he knows that "we can sign everybody" is radio fluff from his son. If they can't keep everybody, they've got some really tough calls to make and unfortunately, most will come from the D side.

And this isn't aided by the lack of RB buzz coming out of camp.

When you have Brady, Brees or Rodgers you are able to go average at rb and wr.

That's due to having a GM who doesn't understand the intricacies of building a contender in the NFL. And running the ball prolifically was forced on him, not what he wanted. When we suddenly gave Murray the ball prolifically back in 14 and it led to 12-4, Jerry had finally discovered a way to win. He really doesn't know any other way, and he lucked into this one.
I agree and why I want to stay with Elliott. This looks like our best means to win with Jerry’s ways.

That's a cliche. Looking ahead is extremely important in this game. Ignoring steps that can be taken due to "no one knows what the future holds" is a way to failure.

Here's a cliche to answer a cliche: "Those who fail to plan plan to fail."!!!!!!!
It’s really tough to plan in NFL more than a couple years ahead now. IMO your either building for the future or All In to win now. I think we have enough to try and win now. We were in that building mode last few years and why I think the future is now. Another cliche but one I think fits.

Brees has Thomas and Kamara, they've got the triplets. Brady has always had better than average RB's and WR's. Rodgers has good WR's, not average.

Which proves my point, I think that "disposable" running back argument is bs.

Some players are just difference makers whether some like it or not and Zeke is on of them.

Loyalty, funny word in the NFL. Booger wasn't loyal to Elliott, he wanted him to play for him. And he didn't get pissed because Elliott was suspended, he got pissed because he shot his mouth off saying he would not get suspended and was embarrassed.

We don't know if Prescott or Cooper is concerned because the Joneses are the ones that started this new contract talk and now that has opened Pandora's Box. If they capitulate to Elliott, they set a precedent for future players to hold out with two years left on their contract.

The NFL is stupid and invites these issues that overshadow the game. There is a simple solution to this in the future but it won't stop all holdouts. The 5th year option and franchise tags are all for the owners to take advantage of 1st round overperformers, like Elliott, and the tags are rewards for poor cap management. Dump both of these and if a team cannot come to terms with a player by the FA date, he's a FA. The franchise tag has contributed more to the escalating salaries than anything else. Cousins tag became the base mark for QB's. And tagging Lawrence is what led to that contract.
Actually Prescott and Cooper have both said theyre not worried about it. Itll get done wben it gets done. True words from them or not but thats what leaders put out there.
