Lol a 4th round rb and a late round? You want to know how many times we hear potential. Tired of this potential bs. Guess what, we don’t have to wait on that potential if Zeke is on the field.

Btw, who do you see giving us all those rb yards if Zeke isn’t here?

I’m going after more options. Bring in Jay Ajayi and see about trading for one like Duke Johnson. RB by committee and not all your eggs in one basket.

This line hasn't been the same since 2016. Not that it's bad, but it's collectively taken a step back since then.

Sure. But the investments have been made there. Time to produce. Funny how Zeke hasn’t made them better then eh?

In 2014 with Murray, Randle had 350 rushing yards.
In 2015 with McFadden, Randle had 300 rushing yards.
In 2016 with Zeke, Morris+McFadden had 325 rushing yards.

The difference was Murray, McFadden, Zeke. RB2 was a constant.

Murray 2014: 1800
McFadden 2015: 1000
Zeke 2016: 1650

Team rushing 2014: 2300
Team rushing 2015: 1800
Team rushing 2016: 2400

Having a dominant RB also opens up the passing game. Everyone is tired of bringing up the Dak performance during Zeke’s suspension, but the precedent is there.

It’s there when Dak had neither Zeke nor Tyron Smith. I’ve done the homework.

Not sure I disagree at this point. I've always been a fan of Zeke's play(Not so much his off field crapp), and I do believe a topnotch RB adds a ton to a team, but in this case, at what cost? Can't trust him, and the holdout, to me, does not make sense. I would understand Zeke renegotiating, but the holdout? I wonder if he knows or cares that he's losing fans daily.

"He's right there at the top of the best in the business, if not the best," Jones said of Elliott in February. "We certainly saw what Gurley got paid, and we know that's probably where it starts, and we'll go from there."

I don't know what you call two rushing titles and most rushing yards since he came to the league. Plus two division titles and 32 wins in three seasons despite using a run-first offense in a pass-first league. But other than all that, you hit the nail on the head.

Yeah. If it was next year I’d have a lot more sympathy. I think doing it now is a mistake. I’d make him and his agent pay for that mistake.

I call it less than the 1800 that Murray had.

Try harder.

You're always so thorough in your research. That's a pretty telling stat!
I was shocked and most of those 1K rushers had more receiving TDs. I knew it wasn't great but far too much emphasis is put on yards with RB's. Emmitt needed 112 to get 6 points in a 13 year Cowboys career.

Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott will not play in the 2019 season without a new contract, a source close to the situation told ESPN's Josina Anderson on Tuesday.

https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/27332566/zeke-play-dallas-deal

For reasons that have been explained here numerous times and some still don't understand or simply refuse to accept.

"But...but...August 6th!"

If he sits out this season, August 6th 2020 becomes a meaningful date. Today is not.

Did you happen to get Zeke's average throughout his career thus far? Is 239 on par with his first two years?

You're right though!! Yards don't mean much of anything unless it leads to 6 points. We have had teams that are top-5 in overall yardage production, but still hover around a .500 W/L record because we always settle for FGs and not TDs

I hope the Cowboys start making contingency plans. Investigate getting better running backs for your committee.

And start up the fines, as is their right.

Ahhh yes, the fines.

How are they going to collect them? He's not getting paid so they can't withhold. He can say screw you and eventually it'll go to court. Meanwhile, it won't do a thing for the Cowboys this season except make some fans feel better.
