Would Pederson give us a better chance at the SB instead of Garrett?

Having an interesting conversation with a few Eagle fans. They think that the best two NFC teams in terms of talent are our Boys and the Eagles. Two of them believe that if Pederson was our HC instead of Garrett that we would be Super Bowl winners. Their reasoning:

1) Pederson has been able to keep a badly injured team competitive due to adjustments made in game--they don't always win (we beat them twice last year) but they rarely get blown out and keep it close.
2) Pederson has shown that he is willing to change the system to fit the players better than Garrett has shown.
3) Pederson simply makes better in game adjustments. He puts his players in a better position to win.
4) Dallas might have the best personnel on paper. They should have more playoff success than they do. That points to coaching.

Both the past two years, the Eagles have been hit hard with injuries--I think only the Commanders have been hit harder on the injury front. During the Super Bowl year, Pederson looked at old game footage of Foles under Kelly when he had that 27/2 year. Pederson took what worked under Kelly and incorporated it into his offense for Foles. Result: Super Bowl victory.

So, would Pederson have a better chance to lead us back to Lombardi heaven over Garrett?

Sure. He’s won a SB.

Now do I think he’s a great coach? I think we need to see more but to argue that he’s not better than Garrett at this point would be kind of silly.

Yeah, yeah, Pederson lost to Garrett twice last year. I get it.

I like Garrett, but a lot of coaches might give us a better chance.

Pederson is an excellent game strategist; Garrett is not. Garrett has excellent leadership qualities but he brings little as far as in-game adjustments and the like.

Yes. Any adjustment is better than no adjustment. Our gameplan vs the Rams was awful. Teams had showed how to beat them (not show their Defence until after McVay communications were cut off), but we decided to do the 'nameless faceless opposition' bs and they ran all over us. I hate wasting season after season on this awful coaching.

Never in a million years would Garrett have lead the Eagles to a SB once Wentz went down.

What did Peterson do last year with a Super Bowl team? He was doomed last year once people caught on to his gimmicks on offense.
Peterson won a Super Bowl over Tom Brady and Bill Belicheat!! Enough said!! Of course Peterson would give us a better chance to win a Super Bowl then Garrett. This team wins inspite of Garrett! We, as usual, have top 5 talent, with average to below average coaching.

Maybe, Moore will change this.

Really? Let's see...the last six games of the season, after the Saints blew them out with no secondary left, Philly patched up their defense with guys literally coming off the street. With six games left and playoff hopes on the line, they went 5-1, with a "gimmicky" offense scoring around 26-27 points a game..oh, beating the Rams along the way, something we couldn't do when it counted. They even won a playoff game against a higher seeded opponent with their injured roster.

Doomed? They had a rough patch in the season but finished strong and made it to the divisionals.

Now, I hate the Eagles with a passion but c’mon.

Your points 1 and 3 are really the same point about in game adjustments, and the "rarely gets blown out" argument doesn't make much sense because the Cowboys also rarely get blown out. Each got blown out once last year - the Eagles 48-7 by the Saints, and the Cowboys 23-0 by the Colts.

Right now I would say the answer isn't crystal clear, although Peterson has to have the edge because he won the Super Bowl. Nevertheless, in his other 2 seasons he was 7-9 & 9-7, so it will take more time to really know where Peterson will end up. And let's remember the Cowboys have also had to make due without players over the same time frame Pederson has been with Philly, from suspensions handed out to key players like Zeke Elliott, DeMarcus Lawrence, David Irving and Randy Gregory, to injuries to key players like Tony Romo, Sean Lee. Travis Frederick, Tyron Smith and Dez Bryant. And then there was the whole WR by committee fiasco. lol

So did Tom Coughlin and the Giants, who fell on their faces in subsequent years and Coughlin got fired.

Time will tell if Pederson is the real deal or if 2017 was a fluke.
