How about the word that his $4 million salary will simply roll until 2020 if he doesn't show up? He'd be playing for that same $4 million in 2020 anyway.

I'm not sure that word is right.

If so, it's more mutual assured destruction. Zeke can hold out half the year and still get his accrued season, but the season is easily a bust for the team if he does. With the accrued season, he could then hold out in 2020 and be a clear free agent at 26 with good season and a half of rest.

I'd be much more willing to pay him a bigger contract in free agency in that scenario than after two more full years as the bell cow here.

Hey CC, I like off topic and you are right about the mind thing but I am comparing that team to today's NFL. The Bears were great on D and led the league in rushing but they were 20th in passing and except for McMahon's headbands, they weren't sexy. The most exciting thing was a 350lb DT, that sound like the Cowboys or Booger to you?
To be fair I'm sure Jerry saw the marketing flair of Mr. Refrigerator Perry & would be happy with that here. Heck just say his name & a lot of folks that never even saw him will still crack a feel good smile.

Here's the source it came from:

It was fugly.
I watched the Cowboys game in 1985 vs. The Bears.on Youtube a couple years ago and man it brought back memories of me losing a bet with my Grandma and having to dress up like a Mike Ditka or she had to dress up like Tom Landry. I remember crying as I dressed up as Iron Mike.

Have I ever said he wasn't any of those things you mentioned?

You still haven't answered the question, is he a follow the ball owner or not? Here's a hint, Joe, they're all follow the ball owners, which is why most of them don't GM their own team.

The only things I've said about Booger are that I do not like are his personality and need to constantly be the center of attention and seek the spotlight. I think he's a horrible speaker and I avoid exposure to him in order to stay a fan of the team. That's my choice and my opinion of him and I have no problem with your opinion of him, I really don't care about anyone else's opinion of him because he is not the face of the team to me as some have made him.

I do wonder, are you part of the Highland Park Hillbilly clan? You sure are twitchy about ole Boogsy Woogsy.
It kind of pisses me off every time you call the man, "Booger". I don't really want to talk to you anymore for that reason. So I'm going to put you on my ignore list before you provoke me to say something that will get me benched, You enjoy the rest of the preseason.

Maybe off topic, but you're out of your mind if you think the 85 Bears team was "boring ball."

Those guys intimidated people, humbled people, and then ran up the scoreboard in the meantime on them. They weren't putting up 7-10 points in a game like the 2000 Ravens were; they dominated people man!
I thinking the OP never saw the 85 Bears play
