Our RB is already in the roster whether Zeke comes in or not

You can get that with Jerry’s long history of stupid trades, the Browns prob called us before trading Duke Johnson. To me thus means we’re standing pat

"What If" the Cowboys did want to add a better veteran option at RB than Morris?

Maybe a trade (4th to 7th round pick type trade).

Maybe a veteran starter that's become too expensive backup as a backup.

Trade picks? Why can''t we see what Pollard/Weber bring rest of camp preseason 1st.

How many TD's has Rush thrown in the past 2 seasons? Heck, how many passes has Rush thrown in the last 2 seasons?
The point is that the Cowboys were OK with him as the #2 QB for 2 seasons. Why would they suddenly feel the need to scramble around to find a veteran backup?

Who is Available?

Some Possibilities:

Niners (Seem to have too much money in RBs):
Matt Breida - Their young starter in 2018.
Jerick McKinnon - Signed a 4 year, 30M deal in 2018 but missed the season with an injury.
Tevin Coleman - 14 game starter for Falcons in 2018. Costs 3.25M in 2019.
Raheem Mostert - Minimal stats but they just gave him a contract averaging 2.9M.

Raiders (drafted Josh Jacobs in the 1st):
Doug Martin - Only 900K salary plus 1M in potential bonuses.
Jalen Richard - Tendered at 3.1M for 2019.
Isaiah Crowell - On IR. 1.25M cap hit.

Bills (drafted Devin Singletary in the 3rd)
LeSean McCoy - 9M cap hit at age 31.

Rams (Gurley + Darrell Henderson in the 3rd this year):
Malcolm Brown - Went to IR last season with a broken bone.

Why, matey?
We already have Zeke, Pollard and Morris and others.
You have too much time on yer hands, lovable painted oaf.

It's a "What If" question and it's what if they were looking for one, not should they look for one.

I've been as big a fan of the Pollard pick as anyone from the minute they made it.

I also liked the Weber pick.

Both of them have looked good in camp.

Having said that, if the team really thinks Zeke is not playing this season, then a veteran RB wouldn't be a bad idea.

Maybe Morris is that guy but I'm curious about other options.

I thought some people might be informed about other teams, especially people that live in areas where other NFL teams are located.

The point is, Rush is untested. Dak is the focal point of the offense. Injuries don't "announce" themselves. We are again taking a big risk without a decent back up qb. If Dak gets hurt, losses will come. It has happened in the past when Romo got hurt.

A journeyman veteran is not likely to be a big improvement, especially this late in the offseason with no camp time in the scheme.

For every 1 Nick Foles there are a dozen Matt Cassel types.

Is any rb we select to start going to be a pass blocker first and a runner second?

So you're criticizing the team for not making a deal, based on a phone call you're just assuming happened?

How many teams have a decent back up QB? In the era of free agency, any back up worth anything ends up signing with another team (see Foles).

Any productive runners under 26.
