For those of you who hate Romo or Dak, what's your true motive in doing so?

I actually really like Dak as a guy. My problem is this:

I thought Romo was a 6-8th best QB in the league that got labeled as a loser because of a lack of team success and optics. (Technically, he was even higher based on numbers alone.)

I think Dak is a 12-14th best QB in the league that has been labeled a winner because he’s had some team success early on in his career.

I feel like this is a completely reasonable viewpoint but those of us that try to express it are labeled as “Dak haters.”

In 4 sentences even. You, my fellow Cowboys fan totally nailed it. From a Dak "doubter". Not sure you speak for the masses for those others that currently doubt Daks abilities but you definitely summed up my perspective.

Excellent post, totally agree. It could be the post ender if you ask me but don't know if other current doubters have personal agendas for not approving of Dak. You explained my opinion here perfectly.

Lol. What a stupid thread. No fan wants the QB to fail. Holly crap, this a pathetic post. Pointing out areas of opportunity to get better doesn't mean we hate someone.

Stop being so sensitive.

Good grief..... So many fragile kids on this forum.
“No fan wants the QB to fail”

That’s adorable if you really believe that.

I do admit that I may be naive in thinking that fans of the team would not accept a player for any reason other than his value to the team.

That's just something that the OP wants to be more true than it is.

I like Dak but my problem is how he is over valued.

Having a salary cap and paying him elite QB money just doesn’t make sense to me.

I hate how the NFL makes the next free agent the highest paid in the league constantly.

THANK YOU! This "set the market" crap is stupid.

These owners are supposedly brilliant businessmen who have been building business budgets their entire lives. Yet, they operate their teams like stripper mistresses with a married man's credit card.

It never works out. They always regret it. And yet they keep doing it.

You say “Dak has been labeled a winner,” but I disagree.

To the majority of football fans/media, Dak is simply along for the ride. He might as well be the 100th-best QB in football, because “Zeke carries the team” and “anyone could succeed with this supporting cast.”

It’s sheer stupidity, just like it was when Romo was labeled a choking bum despite being one of the best QBs in football. Dak’s a good starting QB whose strong play has kept the Cowboys relevant since he took over for Romo.

Romo didn’t get his due and neither is Dak. Neither did Aikman, for that matter. It’s part of what comes with being the Cowboys QB, which is why it’s annoying when COWBOYS fans continue to underappreciate their team’s starting QB.

I would be surprised if you could find 20 people on this board who will not give credit to Dak for being clutch, being a good leader, being a good 4th quarter QB, being a winner.

Now if you are asking them to say that he is a QB who makes plays with his arm and carries the team, that is a whole different story. I don't think he does that. I think he is very capable of taking what the defense gives him and not making bad decisions and keeps drives alive with other skills other than being a great passer.

I know very well that hate is alive and well. It is ruining this forum. For different reasons than you suggest though.

I do admit that I may be naive in thinking that fans of the team would not accept a player for any reason other than his value to the team.
Some people are entrapped in that world of thinking and can't escape it. It's a sad, lonely, and empty existence.

True motive.... Never winning the Super Bowl

Fair or not the QB gets all the blame or praise for winning ships.

I don't hate either of them. But very willing to say they weren't or aren't worth having in Dallas.

Ironically, I think they find it empowering. Or woke as the youngsters call it.

I love my kids. That doesn't mean I blow sunshine up their butts when they screw up.

Same with Romo and Dak.

Homers and haters aren't capable of that distinction.
You're still mad that your kid went to A&M? Lol!! Got it from another thread, not stalking you.

Sigh! Why is it that everybody who doesnt adhere to the party line is a hater? I like it better when independent thought is encouraged.

And yet you will receive hate towards your second paragraph here which perfectly describes who Dak is as a player. Again, now both you and kumizi have both nailed it for me with your responses. Excellent post.

I wish it was THAT small of a minority, but it’s not.

LOL and how am I giving anyone attention? I didn’t call anyone out by name.

Ive seen how hard it can be trying to build a team around a QB who takes up alot of your cap space. Look how much talent dak has now, talent on the whole team not just offense. Now what happens when we begin subtracting that talent due to cap restrictions? And there you have it, an average QB with less talent probably isnt winning more games. Any receiver that has played multiple years with dak none have gotten better. None saw a good increase in touchdowns or yards, and in fact all of them saw a dip in yards per catch. I hope that changes this year. I hope dak dak be better. But i wouldnt woul my breath. Nothing ive seen says he will be a too rated passer and thats ok if we can continue to invest in talent around him. But i i wouldnt pay him $30/year.

Most of them are just invested so much in wanting them to fail (usually because of arguments with other posters), that they cannot go back on it no matter how effective said quarterback is.

Of course none of them would ever admit it.

The rest are just trolls who are not worth anything but to spit at occasionally.

Stupid post of the month award goes to this post. We may also tell you that this poster is no stranger to this award

LOL

At least better than hooking horns!

In all seriousness, it's a great school, and I've come to really respect their traditions and pride, even if it seems a little cultish at times. You don't meet unemployed Aggies. Companies are climbing over each other trying to hire her already. She had her choice of amazing internship opportunities. It's dang hard to get accepted into that school these days with the number of applicants.

Of course, it's the same for UT students, and OU is recruiting North Texas students like crazy. All three are great schools.
