This is a stupid thread.
If Zeke became the highest paid RB in nfl history today he would still make less than guys named Xavien Howard and Sammy Watkins.

He would make less than Jason Pierre Paul.

Now we have these old dudes attacking our own players because the players
want to paid at the level of their production and talent.

Zeke should be paid like a top 3 RB, Dak does not need to be paid like a top 5 QB

“Any player who doesn’t volunteer to play for the minimum is evil. I hate them all.

Every penny more than the minimum they make is another tear down my jealous cheek.

And to make matters worse, I’m fat.”

Not to mention the historic revenues being made by the NFL.

Players didn't ask for a cap, the billionaire owners wanted it. Now some expect the players to "take one for the team" because owners can't manage it? That's on the owners, not the players.

Same thought crossed my mind last night.

When you get into the territory of what these guys are going to get I'd have a hard time prioritizing an extra few mil over the team goal of bringing that trophy home for the fans. I don't expect them to not get theirs. Just keep the big picture front and center and understand that when it's all said and done a championship or two is going to be a much better legacy than being the highest paid at your position for a season.

What bothers all of us is their contract demands tell us about their desire for a championship, or lack thereof.
They just want to grab every dollar even though they know there is a cap limit.
They know their demands really hurt the chances of a championship because there is a limit to what tricks can be played with the cap.
Well if you were a player like them, would you take less..... way less to win a SB, if your playing for garrett and the jones boys??
I mean the chances of garrett and this FO guiding the team to the SB are slim to none. I would take the money.

They want to get paid what they think they are worth. In Zeke's case, he is worth the money b/c he is the best rb in the NFL. Dak's demand to be the highest paid QB in NFL history is ludicrous. I could make a pretty good case that he's not even top 15.

For an old guy like me it's hard to understand how earning 25 mill a season, 50 mil guaranteed or so is taking one for the team.

Needing to make more than the other guy or be the highest paid is pure ego driven greed.

Anyone who has any negotiation ability doesnt start of the negotiations by coming in weak and cutting yourself down with a low ask.
Dak isnt even the one negotiating his deal. He is just playing football and letting the agents do their jobs.

Answer me this. If Dak came to you and said "hey StuckMojo I will give you 6 percent of my salary if you negotiate a new deal for me".
Would you come to shrewd businessmen and devalue your client by asking for a modest salary? I would hope not. Do you just walk onto a car lot and pay whatever is on the sticker and tell the salesmen "you are charging a fair price"? I hope not. You try to start in a position where even when you lose you win.

Is Dak holding out?

I understand negotiations and i am sure his agent is getting more than 6%. Don't care if he is holding out or not, he doesn't deserve top 5 QB pay. I will clarify to say Zeke deserves top 5 pay but it should come after this season. We can not have these top heavy contracts to where we can't build a team around them.

This old dude wouldn't care if Dak made a $100 million a year if there was no salary cap, but there is one and I have seen us in salary cap hell.
