...it's a typical business tactic IMO...ask for high $40Mil...settle for $33Mil....:star:

He’s a 4th rd pick who’s success is due largely to those around him, and now he’s turned down 30 million a year and wants to be paid like a top tier QB. JJ has lost his mind if he’s even contemplating giving this fool what he wants.

That's my point - why are we worried about something we don't even know is true, and frankly seems unlikely to be true?
I doubt it is unlikely to be true. I can totally see Dak asking for that. Or, his agent.

I can't. Certainly not as a demand, or an actual expectation. If they did use that number it was only as a negotiating tactic.

its looking more and more like dak will be playing on a prove it year and zeke may not be here until the last six games and cooper my be sidelined with a injury most of the year

Probably not good for the Cowboys. If Dak plays well he’ll ask for even more money next year. If he plays poorly the Cowboys will have to try and find a new QB next year because they don’t have a backup plan right now.

No doubt, let him play out the contract and test free agency next year.

Naw, more like negotiating. Still, even 32-35 million range is a stretch.

Bingo. This is where Dak has his leverage, because the Cowboys do not want to start over at quarterback. The bottom line is Prescott wants Russell Wilson money and the Cowboys offered less than that. In order to meet in the middle, Prescott's agent had to set their counteroffer high.
