News: Rams not playing starters

I understand why to a degree but this makes it much less entertaining IMO. A quarter of starters vs starters would have been nice.

Makes no difference to me. We aren't playing all our starters either, some aren't even making the trip to Hawaii.

Oh yeah, people don’t want to play their starters against us and get hurt.

Think about it, would you want your front 7 grinded into dust by our big uglies??

I sure wouldn’t want any of that...

However, we need to be playing all our players the way it’s always been done in preseason; people need reps, I don’t care how good they are... Any starter in during the second quarter needs to be immediately pulled until the 3rd game..

Cowboys starters will only play 1 or 2 series. Not a big deal.

Next week against the Texans will be the game to watch. Starters will play into the 3rd quarter.

It’s really sad actually. Excluding the Dak preseason, our offense hasn’t functioned in the preseason with the backup QB in several years. It makes it really tough to evaluate other players when the back up is so bad. That doesn’t always happen with other teams. The Niners could function with Mullens last week, but we looked lost once Dak went out.

Pre season has always been about evaluating talent and getting the starters up to speed. But in recent history the latter has taken a back seat and it has become mainly about evaluating talent. The first 2-4 weeks of the season is used to get the starters up to speed.
