how crazy would it be if not only GIFFORD was a gem, but Justin Phillips as well? Talk about a charmed life at LB. It was a glaring weakness just 2 seasons ago...now our cup seems to runeth over. We seem to have found 2 UDFA this year, that can play at a high level but just need reps. That int Phillips made was special...it showed instincts, natural cover ability way down field...and showed he understood what the rams were wanting to do. He checks all the boxes. I know it was against scrubs...but still, that play was special...over the shoulder like that..FROM A LINEBACKER! That was crazy good.

I think we should pay Zeke and Cooper. They’re difference makers.

Let Dak play this year out. If he underperforms, we get him for less than what we offered. If he over-performs, he’s proven his worth, we had a great season and he can get the $35 million.

I see no benefit to signing Dak now. He’s not gonna take a discount as is, so what’s the point in signing him now? We either save money or we sign him for what he wants anyways.

This a 100 times

Really? This ‘preseason’ has shown you everything you need to know about the situation? Has the Cowboys offense even faced defense playing its starters yet?

So if this preseason hasn’t shown the Cowboys what their priorities should be, nothing will? Did you ever stop to consider the ‘regular’ season might be a better indicator?

wow
I saw pollard whiff on block .. hes not playing 3 downs blocking against game planned ones with crazy stuntz and blitz packages..zekes got like 700 carrys 2 rushing crowns, can catch, block, leap players, truck defenders, has speed, burst and anything I left out? HE CAN NOT BE REAPLCED by a rookie.this rookie hasn't seen real defense yet with pressure to keep Dak clean.. people are HIGH or drunk or both on hopes that Zeke can be replaced becase they are butthurt hes holding out....it would be nice to have Pollard as a change of game relief back to zeke like hunt or Kamara, hes not as fast as that scat back in Chicago but having any RB2 that can produce will make the offense better and dare I say make Zeke even better late in the year and the playoffs..get him some fresher legs

Ignorant and ridiculous thinking. Sorry to burst your bubble, but Dak is not going anywhere. Plus, Trevor Lawrence is going #1 overall, so the Cowboys would have to completely tank and make sure they end up with the worst record (likely 1-15 or 2-14) in order to draft #1 overall...just to appease your ridiculous fantasy.

It's not happening.
Or trade away very expensive problem players and stockpile picks. Zeke is a head case and Dak is a good guy, but average.

... we did give Zeke his money (3+ year extension), and pay Cooper as well, but let Prescott play out the season and then tag him? Potentially even tag and trade him?

I personally think it would be awesome and ballsy GM'ing.
There is a missing piece that precludes the “awesome” conclusion - we would have no QB.
