If Joe Jackson is on the 53, who is off it?

yup...I don't get the fascination. He's looks the part...but his change of direction and recognition of plays are beyond horrible. And that's being polite. Just cut. Hope he makes it through to the practice squad...and maybe he learns.

I think we are playing Joe Jackson out of position. We keep trying to make him a RDE. He's more suited for the LDE position. He could also be a 3tech like Irving.

This front office has no ability to evaluate QBs.

Don't get me started on the starter but to be content with a slop contest to determine the backup really illustrates how clueless they are.

They've seen those guys for multiple years now. They should know they don't have a backup QB.

:hammer:......yup. I don't see how you can evaluate anything out of that mess. Rush looked ok I guess if he was mopping up a blow out...but I wouldn't want him starting a game in the regular season.

II still love the way our first team d flies to the ball. Everything is contested. That 3rd and 13 bortles completes on that scoring drive. Regular season We blitz there and a get a sack.

Like how dak looked. He looks so much more comfortable in pocket. That one play he can’t take the sack.

Pollard looks good and will be a nice backup. Doesn’t change a thing for me. Still need zeke.

it’s still preseason. Can’t judge a single thing except for what the backups do.

Well they must know something, as you said above you don't think they will lose the rest of the year. So that means they will beat that Wentz dude twice again this year, like last year. So therefore that starter must be better than that dude in Philly.

You want this smoke?

We saw the same game. I would also dislike Olawale. This guy comes up small way too often. Why is he here?

Man does Jonvea Johnson have all the tools to be a great WR, well, besides the catching part of it!!

The guy seems to get open on every play and has the speed to make plays with the ball in his hands but without super glue, that's going to be hard to do.

I thought that was a horrible pass to Gallup. Yes, on paper it looks good, but in reality it was not. Watch the play and look where Gallup is when the ball is thrown and see him stop to catch it. If the ball is placed properly (ahead of him) it may be a highlight reel TD pass. Gallup had that defender beat badly with no help over top and that ball should have lead him down the sideline instead of forcing him to stop on his route and make a catch on a 50/50 ball.

A bit more detail on the 1st drive

1st drive
Play 1
- Pollard whiffed on a block which was on him quickly after the fake handoff.
- Collins was too slow coming off his block to get the LB
- Dak had an opportunity to dump to Witten and missed the read
- SAK
- IMO this was a miss read at the LOS. I don't think we recognized that Natrez was a rusher.

Play 2
- Su'a Filo, Frederick and Collins do a tremendous job creating a hole
- Gallup puts a perfect block downfield on the corner
- Pollard hits the hole with speed for a big gain and a nice finish

Play 3
- Dak has a heap of time, really good blocking
- Gallup is well contained in press man but eventually gains a yard and a half separation on the go route
- Dak under throws Gallup a little
- Gallup makes a great catch

Play 4
- Defense sends five.
- Great blocking all round
- Dak steps up to relieve minor pressure
- Cobb has adjusted his route underneath the off-man coverage
- Pollard was unmarked and wide open on the wheel route
- Either option was good and had the potential for a much bigger gain

Play 5
- Blocking is tremendous again
- Witten has a matchup out wide on a corner
- He works him like a veteran for the easy catch and 1st down
- No pressure on Dak at all

Play 6
- Defensive breakdown with the Rams corner covering Gallup underneath and late to pick up Pollard
- Good blocking again
- Quick dump to Pollard
- He finishes nicely

Play 7
- Frederick destroys the DT who was occupied by Su'a Filo
- Williams does enough but overextending falls
- The DT makes a dive and contact with Pollard
- Pollard keep his feet and keeps driving
- Finishes strong picking up the TD

Note: This wasn't Brockers, Donald, Dante Fowler Jnr and Clay Matthews. It was Smart, Fox, Natrez and Franklin Myers who are bottom of the roster (the equivalent of Ross, WIse, Jelks and Jackson). We didn't have Martin or T.Smith but there was still a big gulf in class and we were able to manhandle them. It was a nice pre-season outing and we got what we wanted out of it but take it with a grain of salt.

New York (Giants?) Beat Writer "scouting" Tony Pollard

Great game by the rook. All he gotta do is learn to pass block.

One game, but he looked like everything I thought Lance Dunbar would be.

He's gonna compliment Zeke really well. For the 1st time in forever when we have a really good player (Zeke in this case) sit, his replacement doesn't suck.

The guy converts a first down, catches a poorly thrown ball, gets a bad spot on another 1st and you have a problem with him. What game were you watching?
