OLine
6. Fleming
7. Looney
8. McGovern (has not practiced due to injury)
9. Su'a-Filo
10. Redmond
11. Hyatt

Maybe they think Su'a-Filo or Redmond have trade value.

DLine
Crawford: Salary too high to trade.
Rookie UDFAs: Unlikely (Although, they did trade a DB for OL Redmond last year).
Jelks: Maybe but it seems unlikely.

Taco: Some team would give something for a former 1st round pick, but the Cowboys have never given up on a 1st round pick before their 3rd season in the Jerry era.

Quinn does not count towards the 53 for the 1st two weeks.

1. DE DeMarcus Lawrence
2. DE Robert Quinn
3. DE Dorance Armstrong
4. DE Kerry Hyder
5. DE Taco Charlton
6. DE Joe Jackson

7. DE Jalen Jelks

DL Tyrone Crawford

1. DT Maliek Collins
2. DT Antwaun Woods
3. DT Trysten Hill
4. DT Christian Covington

6. DT/DE Daniel Wise
7. DT Ricky Walker
8. DT Daniel Ross

Taco will probably be starting in place of Quinn, so very doubtful
well if quinn is to comeback by the third game, who do we keep between Taco, Quinn, Montgomery, Covington, Lawrence, Hyder, do we keep 5? or 6? I figure we keep 10 DL men. Quinn once back is probably the starter, with Montgomery and Hyder in the rotation. so between all of those, which one brings the most value for a trade, given all will be rotational players only.

I really dont see a DL being traded unless its a down roster guy for another down roster guy

Taco will probably be the #3 DE which is usually good for about 500 snaps. After him, I dont see anyone with trade value of substance

What position would the Cowboys want to "shore up" ?

LB
The LB depth might be a bit thin with Covington and Gifford injured.
They've basically always kept 7 since moving back to the 4-3.
Vander Esch
Jaylon
Lee
Joe Thomas
March
Phillips
Covington/Gifford injured.

RB
Without Zeke:
Pollard
Morris - Looked sluggish.
Weber/Jackson/Chunn: Probably not an option to play significant snaps in 2019.

QB
They had Rush as the 2nd QB for the past 2 seasons. Nothing has changed.

CB
Is Byron Jones not on schedule for game 1?

Safety
Heath didn't play in the Rams ps game. Is there a significant injury issue?

There is no right or wrong answer here. Clarence is just saying one or the other may be on the trading block to shore up a position somewhere else. I don't know why some posters are saying why it's more likely to be one or the other as if there is a right answer. And the position being shored up is anyone's guess.

I would think our best trade asset would be Looney. But do you want to trade Looney? Filo yes, but what could get for him.

On the DL, Charlton is probably starting the first 2 weeks so I doubt they will dangle him.
No, they must have a backup Center.
- Su'a-Filo has not practiced at Center with the Cowboys.
- Redmond would be a downgrade from Looney.

Safety is my guess. HB maybe, but do you want to trade for a #3 HB? CB is possible with Jones hurt, but we do seem to have nice depth at the bottom part of the roster.

With Safety, Woods and Wilson are the only guys under contract in 2020

Starting based on what? Up to this point he can’t be starting based on merit.

McGovern played C his sophomore season. One of the reasons we drafted him was his "ability to play all 3 interior positions on the OL."

Crawford May have some value depending on scheme. He could be worth more to a 3/4 team.

His salary is more in line based on the increase in market. He may net the team a comp pick when he becomes a free agent. So that has to be stirred in as well.

Hopefully we don’t get hosed like we did last season.

Ward for Ehringer.

A guy who didn’t play a regular season game for a starting CB

Trade for a Running Back. Should of been Duke Johnson.

Pollard is going to do what Duke does and some

Just me but I'm guessing it could be a starter or rotation guy who's a 2020 free agent ( DT? ).

He is under contract for 2020 also. He would have to remain on the 53 for both 2019 and 2020 before his free agency could result in a comp pick.

He has value to other teams but 7M and a pick seems a bit steep.
- He projects best to Strong Side DE in a 4-3 or to 3-4 DE.
- DLaw is the Strong Side DE for the Cowboys which pushed him to DT/RDE.

Pollard is going to do what Duke does and some
2 start for Ward in 2018.

He is not listed as a starter on their current depth chart.
